Genevie Anderson Sewell (nee Eagle) March 9, 1925 – January 6, 2021 Genevie passed from life to more life on January 6 in Denton, Texas. A native Texan, born in Tehuacana, who only lived out of state when accompanying her husband on military assignments (including two in Japan), she loved going for drives to see bluebonnets. She loved to fish at the coast and could be found sitting in deer blinds in the Hill Country from time to time. She loved Texas! Nothing brought more joy to her life than her family. She’s survived by her son, James W. Moore of Roswell, NM, her daughters. Etta Talbot-Sumstad of St. Louis, MO, and Virginia Kay Beley (Douglas) of Denton, TX and stepdaughter Ann Sewell Poncik (Gearld) of Richmond, TX; her grandchildren, Amber Worthey McKenney, Marri Jayne McLaughlin, Jeffrey Douglas Beley (Lezlie), and Amy Renee Beley, and step-grandchildren, Josef Poncik, Amy Elliot (Dana), Tracie Autry, Keith Sewell, Lee Sewell (Kim), Renee Skaggs (Tom) and Matthew Sewell. She was blessed to leave several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, and her smiling great-great grandchild Ellie Kay Brown. “Bee” as she was affectionately known is also survived by her sister Posey Steitle, her nephew Ernest M. Steitle, and nieces Jeanette Koble, and Karlon Thompson (Charles), along with their children and grandchildren. She loved to sew, making things for the church bazaar well into her nineties. She colored pictures for family and nursing home staff to brighten their days, always showing great hospitality to friends and strangers alike. She was so gregarious that anyone who knew her will miss her smile and friendly conversation. She was a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star and spent countless hours supporting her daughters in Rainbow Girls. She also taught first aid classes and supported her daughters scouting activities. Above all else she was a woman of strong Christian faith who is at rest now in the arms of her Savior. Those she will be reunited with include her parents, Walter Lee Williams and Etta Mae Webb, her husbands John Edward Anderson and Floyd Sewell, her half-sister Irene Sewell, her half-brother James Calliham, stepsons Jerry and Kenny Sewell, and her grandson, James Edward Worthey, among others.
