George is preceded in death by paternal grandparents George & Dolores Rivas and Maternal grandparents Manuel & Margarita Govea. George is survived by his parents Marcos & Christi Rivas (Step Mother) and Mother Lisa Ann Aguilar. Brothers John Matthew Rivas, Ryan Alexander Rivas, sister Kaitlin Alianna Rivas, niece Jaelianna Maleah Rivas and nephew John Matthew Rivas Jr. plus, Countless Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and many childhood friends who all loved him dearly. A special mention of two of his best friends/brothers Rudy Stephen Valenzuela and Matthew Vargas who preceded George in death in the past 2 years. We also cannot forget his loving Dog Meatball. George was such a beautiful soul that would immediately brighten the lives of those around him. He had an infectious laugh, silly grin and a smile so bright that immediately warmed your heart. Loving, passionate, free spirit, charismatic, silly, handsome, loyal friend, caring, zest for life. These are the thoughts that come to mind when we think of George. George enjoyed lively conversation that would sometimes turn into great debates. He never hesitated to help anyone in need, he was always there for you. He was a blessing to us all and losing him will leave a tremendous void in our lives but we know his legacy and spirit will carry on. Beside his family and friends George’s other passions were Music, sushi and exotic foods, attending concerts, the Spurs, Cowboys, pop culture, fashion, comic cons, memorabilia and especially his shoes. He was an avid sneaker head. A few quotes George had posted on his social media “Never take anything for granted, live your life to the fullest.” “Believe in yourself and nothing else will matter.” From the Family: “May the winds of Heaven blow softly and whisper in your ear, How much we love and miss you and wish you were still here." Visitation for George Ray Rivas will be held on August 21, 2022, at 5 pm with a Rosary at 6:30 pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels Cherry Ridge, 3401 Cherry Ridge Dr, San Antonio, TX 78230. Final farewell will be on Monday August 22 from 8:30 to 10:00 am at Mission Park followed by interment to be held at 11 am at Wildflower Cemetery, 10392 Kriewald Rd, San Antonio, TX 78245. George was an avid Sneaker head so if you would like to wear your favorite Jordan’s or any other type of athletic shoes to honor George please feel free, we know George would enjoy that.
