Geraldine (Jerry) Carolina Monier Pyle went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2023 at the age of 90. She was born in San Antonio on March 19, 1933 to Oscar Bryan and Inez Marshall Monier. Preceding Mrs. Pyle in passing were her husband of 65 years, Jerry Allen Pyle, her parents, her infant son, Timothy Allen Pyle, her brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Jill Pyle and her nephew Bryan Pyle. Surviving relatives include: her children Caroline Lochte (Keith), Stephen Pyle (Christine) and David Pyle (Kate); grandchildren, Cathleen Swallows (Andrew), Madeline Lochte (Adam), Amelia Pyle and William Pyle (Mady); niece, Erin Johnson (David) and their children Erich Johnson (Madie) and Kiri Johnson. Geraldine graduated from Jefferson High School in 1951 where she was a captain in the Jefferson Lassos. She attended Baylor University and on July 31, 1954 she married her junior school sweetheart, Jerry Pyle. After her husband’s college graduation, Geraldine accompanied Jerry to his United States Air Force stations for the next three years. Afterwards, they returned home to San Antonio to raise their family. Geraldine was a family first mom who worked to raise her children with love and grace. She was also a loving and fun Mimi to her grandchildren. Geraldine loved to travel with family all over the world. She learned to ski later in life and went on many ski trips with friends, children and grandchildren. She also loved to trail ride on her horses on the family ranch in Fredericksburg, Texas. Geraldine spent many weekends on the ranch with Jerry having fun with children, grandchildren, friends, and taking care of cattle and wildlife. The Pyle family would like to say a special word of thanks and gratitude to Geraldine’s wonderful and compassionate caregivers. They are Armandina, Molissa, Michelle and Caitlin. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Dr. San Antonio, Texas 78230. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 12, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Mission Burial Park South, 1700 SE Military Dr. San Antonio, Texas 78214. The family will celebrate a memorial service at University United Methodist Church, 5084 De Zavala Rd. San Antonio, TX 78249, following the interment, beginning at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the charity of your choice.
