Gladys Arcos Gonzales June 25, 1934 - Dec. 29, 2021 When our Lord God surveyed the land, He saw His child Gladys, and He said, “This Loved one has done more than her share of contributions to mankind, I will take her unto My bosom and carry her to that celestial lodge above to join her other family members that went on before her”. Gladys went to be with our Lord God in Heaven on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. Her husband of 66 years, Robert “Dusty” Gonzales, Jr., and family were by her side, in their family home, during this time to help comfort her and say their final good-byes. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Arcos, Sr. and wife Mary Lou Casas Arcos. Brother, Louis “Sonny” Arcos, Jr., and grandson, Michael Paul Gonzales. Gladys is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert “Dusty” Gonzales, Jr. , and her younger brother, Robert “Bobby” Arcos. Their son, Robert A. “Bobby” Gonzales. Their son, Patrick J. Gonzales, and his wife, Rose. Their daughter Cynthia C. Ramos, and husband Alex. Their loving Grandsons, Patrick J Gonzales, Jr., wife Liliana; Robert A. Gonzales, Jr.; Mark A. Gonzales, wife Elizabeth; Christopher A. Ramos, and Matthew M. Ramos. Her adoring Great Grandsons, who lovingly called her “GG”, Michael P. Gonzales, Daniel J. Gonzales, Patrick J. Gonzales, III. Gladys and Robert were married in 1955 and lived in San Diego, CA., while he was stationed in the U.S. Navy. Gladys and Robert met and had lifelong friends in California. This is where their Family began. Gladys was very proud and could brag all day, if you let her, about her son’s, daughter, grandsons, and great grandsons. She was very proud of her maiden name Arcos and her Hispanic heritage, organizing, in 1974, the first Arcos Family Reunion with her husband “Dusty”. She loved to attend dances with “Dusty” and their friends. They belonged to numerous social organizations, including the Fox Tech Ex-Students Scholarship Association of which she was very instrumental in organizing and founding with “Dusty”. Gladys was a very loving person who made friends with all. She made life-long friendships with her co-workers from Joseph’s Men’s Store, Alamo Bank, and SA Credit Union. She enjoyed cooking for her family and others. She was a great cook. During Fiesta, lines would form at her booth, at SACU, to have some of her wonderful Chilaquiles. Gladys graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, Class of ’52. She loved to travel with Robert to numerous places across the country, including Hawaii, and abroad. Pre and after retirement, she enjoyed traveling with Robert to various casinos throughout the country. No words can describe her Beauty, Grace, and most of all her Love for her Family. Your presence will be missed by all whose lives you touched; and know that our Love for you, will live on forever. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels Cherry Ridge @ 3401 Cherry Ridge. A procession will depart the funeral home on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 9:00 AM, with funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Paul Catholic Church, 350 Sutton at St. Cloud Road, at 9:30 AM.
