Gladys De La Rosa Rios, age 89 of San Antonio went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 16, 2019. She valued her faith and served as a Eucharistic Minister at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, where she and her husband Frank volunteered for many years to count the weekly offerings provided by fellow parishioners. Amongst many things, Gladys is remembered as beautiful, elegant, kind, sweet, and gentle. She was a devoted Mother who was respected and admired by all who knew her. Gladys loved music, dancing, bowling, gardening, and preparing her delicious homemade enchiladas and Christmas baked goodies. She wore her pearls daily which she cherished as much as going to the beach or driving to all parts of Texas. Gladys’ greatest love was her grandchildren whom she cuddled and loved on endlessly. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Rios, Sr.; her sisters and brothers, Theresa Valdez, Clara Stewart, Julia Vidal, Frank De La Rosa, John De La Rosa, and Helen Mendoza. She is survived by her children, Dorothy Monita and husband, Dominic, Katherine Mendoza, Madeline Delgado-Wilson and husband, Dan, Frank Rios, Jr., Belinda Guerrero and husband, Luis, Cynthia Navarro and husband, Rudy and Yvonne Lopez and husband, Steven; 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gladys’ family wishes to acknowledge the love and care she received by the staff of Brookdale - Patriot Heights Skilled Nursing and Hospice. The family is happy she is in the presence of God, she will be missed by all who called her Mom, Grandmother, Aunt or Friend. Gladys will remain in our hearts forever. SERVICES Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive. A Procession will depart the Funeral Home Chapel at 12:15 P.M. on Thursday, February 28, 2019 for a Mass at 1:00 P.M. at St. Luke Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Drive.
