In Loving Memory of Guadalupe “Lupita” Carpio March 6, 1944 – August 26, 2026 Guadalupe “Lupita” Carpio, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, at the age of 82. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, family, and devotion that will continue through the generations she helped raise and nurture. Lupita was born on March 6, 1944, in Douglas, Arizona. She later lived in Tucson, Arizona, before making San Antonio, Texas, her home. She was the beloved wife of Dan Carpio, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and family. Lupita was a mother who gave her time, her heart, and her love freely. She believed in being involved in the lives of her children and their activities, volunteering with the PTA, Girl Scouts, and Cub Scouts. She wasn’t simply a mother who watched from the sidelines—she was present, involved, and always there to support her family. Her greatest joy, however, came from being a grandmother. After school, her grandchildren knew they had a place where they were loved, cared for, and welcomed. Lupita devoted countless hours to caring for her grandchildren and later helped to care for her great-grandchildren as well. Helping to care for the generations that followed her was among her greatest accomplishments and one of the most meaningful parts of her life. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Dan Carpio Sr., her children, Dan Carpio Jr. (Olivia), Richard Carpio (Lilly), and Patsy Delgado (Johnny). She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Dianne Kelly Carpio. She leaves behind siblings, Lydia Henningsen and Tony Aguilar. Grandchildren, Danielle Noble, Richard Carpio Jr., Annamarie Carpio, Alyssa Rivera-Carpio, Derrick Carpio, Adrian Carpio, Destiny Delgado, Alberto Delgado, and Johnny Reyes, as well as her great-grandchildren, whom she loved deeply. Lupita had a joyful spirit and loved to dance. She also had a special way of showing her love, her family will forever remember that she made the best mashed potatoes. These simple things—the dancing, the meals, the laughter, the afternoons after school, and the everyday moments of caring for her family—are the memories that will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Lupita’s greatest legacy was not something that could be measured in possessions or accomplishments. It was found in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She gave them her time, her love, her strength, and a lifetime of memories. Though her family will miss her more than words can express, her love will continue to live on in every generation she touched. She was the matriarch of her family, and that love will never leave them. Rest peacefully, Mom, Nana, Tia, Pita, Nina…. You were loved beyond measure, and you will be missed .
