Hipolito "Paul" Salas, III age 47 of San Antonio entered into Heaven on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 while surrounded by his family. He was born March 14, 1968 in San Antonio to Hipolito, Jr. and Mary Helen Herrera Salas. He was a 1986 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and later attended the University of Texas at San Antonio. Paul started employment at Southwest Airlines SWA in 1989 at Reservations and continued his success with SWA by becoming Manager of Ramp and Operations at San Antonio International Airport. As a representative of SWA and his interest in San Antonio tourism, he was a Commissioner for the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau. He married his Middle School sweetheart, Michelle Sepeda on November 3, 1990. Together they enjoyed their marriage by traveling extensively before welcoming three beautiful children into their lives. Luke came into their lives in June 1996, followed by Lane in November 1997 and their family was complete with Audra in April 2000. Paul was an amazing Dad to their children by being actively involved in all their interests and activities. Paul was always very proud of them. His battle with cancer began in 2002 with a reoccurrence in 2005 and his final battle began in June 2014. Paul was very close with his brothers and sister and their families, Willie and his wife Nelda and their daughter, Bianca, Olivia and her husband, Robert and their daughters, Emme and Ellie, and his youngest brother, Gabe. Paul lived his life for his wife, children and family and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a great influence in his life, his father-in-law, Tony Sepeda. In addition to his wife, children, parents and siblings, he is survived by his mother-in-law, Sylvia Sepeda; brother-in-law, Marc Sepeda. Paul's other family includes the SWA and San Antonio International Airport employees who faithfully supported Paul and embraced his family throughout this arduous journey for them all. Paul always shared with Michelle and the kids that he did not want this to be a sad occasion but to remember his zest for life. SERVICES Visitation will be on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive. The Service will be on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Leon Springs Dancehall, 24135 IH-10W. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Paul's memory to the charity of one's choice.
