Ivy Viola (Finch) Stiebing October11,1921 – July 12,2020 Ivy Viola Stiebing passed away on July 12, 2020 at the age of 98 years in San Antonio, TX. She was born in Houston, TX on October 11, 1921 to Antonio Lang and Alzada Viola Finch. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 61 years Rudolph C. Stiebing. She is survived by her children Lynn Graves (Bill) and Charles Stiebing (Patsy). Grandchildren: Deanessa Zuniga (John), Duane Graves (Shara Lynn), Marissa Porter (Dan), Leah Stiebing-Sanders (David) and Erich Stiebing. Great grandchildren: Morghan Zuniga (Cody Brown), Gunnar and Adalyn Zuniga, Phoebe Graves, Langdon and Wren Sanders, Thomas and Savannah Porter. Great-great Grandchildren Cade and Clay Brown, and her loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. As a young girl Ivy lived in Houston and Hempstead TX where her father worked in the family produce business. On June 2nd 1942 Ivy married Rudolph whom she first met in Hempstead during her school years which began her life as an Army wife. After WWII they lived in Japan and Germany as well as other locations in the US over the next 20 years. Ivy enjoyed being a homemaker and mother. She was an excellent cook and superb baker. Known particularly for her Apple, Lemon Meringue and Coconut Cream pies. After retirement she and Rudolph enjoyed traveling in their RV and spending time with their grandchildren. The grandchildren all have great memories of “camping” with MeMaw and PaPaw at Texas State Parks. After Rudolph’s death in 2003, Ivy continued an active life often walking in Landa Park and even mowing her own yard when well into her 80s. She was independent until her late 90s when dementia required she move into a Memory Care Facility. The family would like to thank the staff at Discovery Center for the great care and love they showed Ivy during her time there. Special shout out to Yolanda, Mary and Andrea. Also, Yvonne of Home Instead and New Century Hospice for their kindness and expertise. She was a joy to be around and loved by many. She will be greatly missed.
