Jesse B. Small Jr. was born on March 15, 1940 in Natchitoches, Louisiana to Mr. Jesse B. Small Sr. and Mrs. Mary Lee Jackson Small. He was the oldest of seven children. His parents and youngest brother James Richard Small preceded him in death. Jesse accepted Christ at an early age, at St. Luke II Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. Jesse graduated in 1961 from Booker T. Washington High School in Shreveport Louisiana. He attended Tulane University in Louisiana for a very brief time. In October 1961, he left College to pursue a career in the United States Air Force. Jesse retired from the Air Force after 21 years of faithful service to his country. After Jesse's Retirement, he made a decision to go back to work as Regional Vice President for Prime America Financial Services. He retired again, after rendering many years of faithful service for this company. Jesse was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church for many years. He served as President of the Methodist Men's Ministry and as a member of the Trustee Board until he departed this earthly tabernacle. Jessie was an extremely knowledgeable person. He had a great mind for business. He was very confident, strong, loving, caring, and one of the Proudest Black Men alive. Jesse loved family life. He was a wonderful husband, father, the best brother, uncle, and friend any one could ever dream of having. He always tried to be the best that the Lord would have him be. He tried to be encouraging to everyone around him. On November 25, 2013, Jesse accepted his Wings from God to depart this earth. He was truly one of God's Greatest Angels here on Earth. Jesse leaves to cherish his beloved memories: Patricia Small wife, two sons, Stacy Small Austin, TX. Michael Sifuentez San, Antonio, TX., one daughter, Patricia Small Shreveport, La., one brother, Willie E. Small Shreveport, La, four sisters, Katherine Hayes Dallas, TX., Alice S. Lee Shreveport, La., Betty F. Snow Shreveport, La, and Andrea D. Madison Milwaukee, WI. Also, he also leaves to mourn 7 grand- children, 7 great- grand children, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. This is the beginning of a new journey for Jesse, he fought a great fight, he kept the faith and he finished his course. This was part of God's Master Plan. II Timothy 4:7 So, miss Jesse a little, but not too long, his soul has been set free. When tomorrow starts without him, please try to understand, an Angel came from heaven, called his name, took him by his hand and said his place was ready in heaven. So, whenever you think of him, know he loves you and you are always in his heart.
