Joan Blow went to be with the Lord on October 29, 2020, at the age of 93. She was born on February 17, 1927 in Kosciusko, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde William Blow; daughter, Jeanine Blow; son-in-law, Jeff Thompson; parents, Joseph and Annie Moy; siblings, Helen Mzyk (Vincent), Mary Mzyk (Frank), Barbara Sekula (Isidore), Thomas Moy, Sr. (Olivia), Tina Stiefer (Dale), Leon Moy and Vangie Gawlik. Joan is survived by her loving children, Devalyn Amons (Tony), Denise Barker (Larry), Mark Blow (Linda), Deanna Villafranca (Robert) and Robin Thompson; brother, Johnny Moy (Dorothy); brother-in-law, Herman Gawlik; sister-in-law, Cecelia Moy; 13 grandchildren, Joshua Amons (Lachelle), Dylan Amons, Garrett Amons, Clint Barker (Dawn), Luke Barker, Jenna Keylich (Kenny), Justin Blow, Jarrett Blow, David Villafranca, Joseph Villafranca, Regina Villafranca, Amy Real (Brandon) and Sarah Perales (Eloy); 13 great-grandchildren, Allyson, Wyatt, Colt, Kristen, Ryan, Jonas, Emma, Cooper, Thompson, Evan, Eian, Ellis and Olivia, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends. Joan Blow was a dedicated civil servant at Kelly AFB for over 20 years before she retired in 1987. In her free time, she enjoyed family gatherings more than anything else. She loved holiday get-togethers, camping and fishing trips, and a kitchen table focused on dinner or a good card game just the same. When the camping trips became a little too difficult for her, Joan exchanged them for trips to Coushatta and Las Vegas. Whether the odds favored her or not, her smile was a sure bet, and everyone who was fortunate enough to have spent these times with Joan will remember the laughter and joy she brought to them. God blessed Joan with loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. And just the same, He blessed those three generations with Joan. While her physical presence will be immensely missed, Joan’s spiritual presence will be felt each time her family gathers. The family wishes to express its sincere and heartfelt thanks to Daniela Butuza and her staff of Golden Age Assisted Living, Ophelia Silva, and Sandy Woodard for taking extraordinary care to make sure mom felt safe and loved in her time of need. Private Services will be Tuesday, November 10, 2020, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. and an on-line eulogy to follow. You may view the Rosary on our website and honor the family from a distance. A private graveside service will be held at St Ann’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Kosciusko, TX. Due to restrictions of Covid-19, the family is limited to celebrating the life of Joan Blow to the fullest extent. With this being said, there will be a full memorial tribute in celebration of Joan Moy Blow’s life at a later date. There will be more information to follow.
