Johnny A. Moreno Jr, age 81, passed away while his loving family was at his side, on Sunday, September 30, 2018. He was born in San Antonio, TX, to parents, Juan and Eva Moreno. Johnny attended Burbank High School then went on to serve in the United States Army. He was a proud man who served his country and fought for his belief in the American dream and traditions. Upon his time in the military, he went on to open numerous businesses from selling cars to owning a contracting business to having a welding company. He was even a Bexar County Constable for many years. Many considered him a man of many trades and talents. Johnny loved to fish off the Gulf Coast on the jetty or boating at the lake, BBQ-ing for family and friends while listening to the oldies-but-goodies, especially his love from Mexican Music. He truly enjoyed the down time to his work week, and most of all talking to people he met and found interesting. He never turned anyone away and offered up all that he had for a warm meal to friends and family in the neighborhood. But most of all, he often reflected on his beautiful family and kids that meant most to him throughout the years of his life. Johnny believed in the power and strength of faith and knowledge and encouraged his kids to live life to the best that they could and wanted to be. He is proceeded in death by his beloved son Johnny Moreno Jr, parents Juan Moreno and Eva (Aguirre) Moreno, and brother Richard (Della) Moreno. He is survived by his wife, Venus, daughters, Debra Ayala, Brenda Moreno, & Julia (Lubia) Moreno; son Johnny Ray (Gina) Moreno; grandchildren Marissa L. Ayala, Joseph M. Jimenez, Sofia E. Moreno, Noah A. Moreno and great grandchild Elijah Velarde. He is also survived by a large family of beautiful Sisters: Marylou (Louie) Morfin, Sylvia (Jimmy) Vasquez, Ida (Mike) Guerrero, and Linda Margie Carreon. As well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families who were near and dear to his heart. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a 7:00 PM Rosary, on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Palm Heights Mortuary. The procession will depart at 10:30 AM for a 11:00 AM Mass on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow at First Memorial Park.
