It is with heavy hearts, yet with the blessed assurance we have in the Lord, that we announce the passing of our beloved brother in Christ, Jose C. De Hoyos. Brother Jose C. De Hoyos was born on June 28, 1936, in San Antonio, Texas, to his parents, Claudio and Adelaida De Hoyos. In 1959, he enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country for six years. Following his military service, he devoted his life to his craft as a skilled carpenter, helping to build places of worship including Iglesia Cristiana, Santa Zion, and The Lighthouse, leaving a lasting legacy not only in structure, but in faith. He married his beloved wife, Eva S. Perez, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, devotion, and unforgettable memories. Together, they built a beautiful family and home, raising their children, Edward Ray, Deborah, and Yvonne. Their marriage, spanning 65 years, was steadfast and enduring, a true reflection of commitment, faith, and God’s design for love. Brother De Hoyos found joy in life’s simple blessings. He loved fishing, traveling, and forming meaningful connections wherever he went. He gave freely of his time and heart, always serving others with love, respect, and humility, never expecting anything in return. Whether mentoring youth, coaching sports, or leading through programs such as Royal Rangers, he made a lasting impact on both young and old, always pointing others toward faith in the Lord. He was a man whose very presence could light up any room. Without the need for words or recognition, his quiet strength, kindness, and spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He lived a life rooted in unwavering faith, often reminding others that through God all things are possible and that every moment rests in His hands. Known for his gentle heart and absence of judgment, he uplifted everyone around him. He carried himself with humility and grace, leaving behind a legacy of love, peace, and encouragement that endured throughout his life and even in his final days. He is lovingly remembered by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward his legacy of faith, kindness, and love. His influence will continue to live on through the generations he cherished so deeply. His life was not only well lived, it was deeply felt. He was truly one of a kind, and his presence will forever be missed. His life stands as a testament to faith, selflessness, and the enduring power of love.
