It is with profound sadness that the Rangel family shares that the accomplished Jose Enrique Rangel passed away peacefully surrounded with family on September 19, 2024, at the age of 88. He was born on September 7,1936 in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila to Jose Hernandez Rangel and Otila Lozano Rangel. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth on June 30,1968. They eventually migrated to the United States in 1978. He was welcomed by his loving brother Rogelio Rangel. Our Father was employed by Baptist Hospital as an environmental tech and retired after 25 years to care for his beloved grandchildren. Jose and Elizabeth active members of Bellaire Christian Church for 48 years. Jose E. Rangel was a man of many qualities. He was a God-fearing man. ³He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather putting the needs and happiness of his loved ones above his own. He enjoyed many things in life especially reading about history, watching boxing and his favorite show “The Price is Right.” He would often sit and listen to classical music with a mix of his favorite artist Frank Sinatra. Our Father taught us the true meaning of love for family by honoring his wife of 56 years Elizabeth Rangel. He is a man who will be remembered from now until the end of time by those who knew him and loved him. He was an extremely proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family on earth and he will continue to be proud as he looks down on his family from heaven. We all know that this will not be the final goodbye but a see you soon. Your loved ones will continue to honor you by uniting as a family. We will miss you and mourn you, and we will be forever grateful for our time spent with you. You will be forever known to us as “Dad” “Pops” and the most honored name - “Grandpa Coche!" Your legacy will continue through your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Rangel. Children; Cynthia Lagunez (Neptali), David Enrique Rangel (Joanne), Melissa Rangel, Jose Homero Rangel (Claudia). Grand children: Ashley (Ja’Marcus), Aubree (Casey), Nicholas, Skylar, Serynity, Victoria, Marissa, Liam, Nathan, Zuleika, Jeremiah, Katia, Amos. Great – Grandchildren; Colton, Weston “Quique” and Rowan. He was preceded in death by his dad, Jose Hernandez Rangel, mom, Otila Lozano Rangel, sister, Guadalupe Flores de Rangel, brother, Rogelio Rangel and great -grandson Ryder Rangel.
