Joseph Andrew Flores – born Dec. 9, 1968, in Elmendorf Texas went to his forever home on Sept. 22, 2025, at the age of 56. Joseph was preceded on his journey by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his father Antonio Flores, his brothers Chris and Gregory Flores and his beloved niece Ariana Garza as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins that he loved and loved him back. Left behind to grieve his loss are his mother, Lidia Leija, his dad Enes Leija, his sisters Connie Balderas (Edward) and Maggie Scheppers (Jason) and his brothers Tony, (Ty), Steve and Pedro Flores. His aunts Lucinda Garza, Josie Dunez, Minnie Aguilar, Mae Flores, and his uncle Joe Ortiz, an enormous count of cousins, extended family and his “Ride or die” friends Clara Villalobos, Scott Davis and Jesse Estrada. Joseph loved deeply and unconditionally. Joseph didn’t have kids of his own, but he pretended like a pro. He was happiest and on “cue” when he was around his nieces and nephews: Nat, Elaine, Kris, Allison, Nick, Jack, Noah, Stephanie, Nicco, Eddie, Bernice, Shon, Terrelle, Avery, DJ, Kristine, Lily, David, Val, Derek, Bella, Alex, Sarah, Matthew, Sonny Rae, Logan, Chandler, and Jeremy. No matter the age, he could relate because he was just a kid at heart himself. He was funny and fun. He was CONTAGIOUS! His signature gesture: a click into his cheek, a snap his fingers, a “vogue” pose, followed by his mischievous laugh was his way of saying, “Chill! My God u’ll are so serious!” Joseph was a “Social Butterfly”. His life work was in hospitality. His outgoing personality and charm were his greatest assets. He started at Bill Miller BBQ (8yrs) alongside his “partner in mischief” Clara, when they were still in high school. He tried his hand at retail at several stores at SP Mall and ultimately ended up at Luby’s (10 yrs). He made many friends with management, co-workers and customers along the way. Joseph loved life and he lived it. He lit up the room when he entered and of course “Uncle Joe” was the center of attention while he was there. Joseph was loving, caring, generous, bold, reckless, and stubborn. But most of all he was BRAVE to the very end. Rest in Heavenly Peace beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, co-worker.
