Josephine (JoJo) Katherine Bartlett, 98 years old, of San Antonio TX, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. JoJo was born in San Antonio, TX to Bartholomew & Annie Koscilski on April 19, 1922. She married James William Bartlett Sr. on November 1941in San Antonio. She worked as a loyal employee of Joske’s Department store for 30+ years. She was also a member of the Son of Hermann Club for 20+ years. She was a baker, a cook, a loyal bingo player, a goer of garage sales, a story teller and an adventurous car ride passenger. JoJo captived you with her personality and smile. When you got to chat with her, she made feel like you have known each other years. She loved her family and made each moment with them feel the most special and blessed. Josephine is preceded in death by her husband James William Bartlett Sr., her sister Agnes Dufner, Agnes’s husband Joseph Dufner Jr., her brother Bennie Koscilski, her great grandson Christopher Bartlett and her daughter Mary Bartlett. Josephine is survived by her first born son James Bartlett Jr., James’s wife Erin Bartlett, her second born son Ben (Buster) Bartlett, Ben’s wife Judy Bartlett, and her brother Stanley Koscilski. Josephine is also survived by her granddaughter Melissa Gambrell, Melissa’s husband Jason Gambrell, granddaughter Catherine Bartlett, great granddaughter Ashlie Hanies, great granddaughter Cassie Van Tassel. Josephine is also survive by many loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will begin on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South; the service will be available on the outdoor screen and live stream. A private interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. The family has asked in placements of sending any flower arrangements that a donation could be made to Grace Place for Alzheimer’s in Josephine Bartlett name. In accordance with CDC safety precautions, we ask to wear a mask and practice social distancing. There will be limited seating for all services.
