In Loving Memory of Joshua Serenil Our beloved Joshua Serenil passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the age of 40. Joshua was born on January 2, 1986. He was a hardworking man, a loving husband and devoted father, and a man of strong faith. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he dedicated his life to caring for and providing for those he cherished most. Joshua shared a beautiful love story with his high school sweetheart and wife, Donica Lynn. Together, they built not only a family but also a life side by side. Joshua started his own handyman business, working alongside his wife each day — the two truly were like two peas in a pod. Their partnership was built on love, trust, and unwavering support for one another. Joshua found joy in the simple but meaningful moments of life. He loved to build things, play music, and spend time with his family. His laughter, warmth, and steady presence brought comfort and happiness to everyone around him. The memories he created with his family will be treasured forever. He is survived by his beloved wife, Donica Lynn; his sons, Joshua Nicolas, Jaedan, Jeremyah, Jayce, and Jovanni; and his daughters, Jayliana and Jessalynn. He also leaves behind his loving mother, Amalia; his father, Rudy Serenil (Natalie); and his sisters, Crystal (Patrick), Felicity (Michael), and Karizma, and brother Christopher Veracruz. His paternal grandmother, Lydia Serenil , maternal grandmother Elosia Amaya , and maternal grandfather Juan (Carmen) Amaya, his fur babies, Sophia, Snowball, Tinkerbell, and Oreo. Joshua’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his sister Rosalie Serenil, paternal grandfather Rudolfo Serenil, Aunt Bertha Amaya, Uncle Matthew Amaya, and fur baby Tony Bologna. While our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Joshua is with his Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Though he will be deeply and profoundly missed, we will forever hold onto the memories of him and the love he gave so freely. Joshua’s life was a blessing, his memory a treasure. He was deeply loved and will be very missed. Visitation will be held at Palm Heights Mortuary on Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 M with a Prayer Service to be held at 6:30 PM, Pastor Ralph Guevara to officiate. Funeral procession will depart 9:30 AM on Friday, March 13, 2026 from Palm Heights Mortuary for a 10:30 AM Funeral Service at The Church of Christ of Floresville 1204 3rd Street Floresville, Texas. 78114. Pastor Thomas W. Bonham to officiate. interment to follow in Floresville City Cemetery.
