Justine O'Quinn of San Antonio, went home to be with the Lord on October 24, one day before his 93rd Birthday. After graduating from Brackenridge High School in San Antonio, Justine worked as a dental technician. At the age of 30, Justine joined the Navy to serve his country during WWII. After four years of service in the Pacific, Justine began a lengthy and distinguished career in the insurance industry, first with Washington National and then for many years with Bankers Life and Casualty Company. Justine was known for his gregarious Irish nature, his quick wit and engaging storytelling. And his practical jokes! His talents and interests were many and varied. He was an avid collector of antiques and arrowheads. Justine was an active beekeeper and a member of the Alamo Area Beekeepers Association. He hunted and fished for years. He worked tirelessly in his garden, which was always full of vegetables that he freely shared with everyone. Justine's greatest pleasure was preparing his special BBQ for friends at home, family reunions and many church functions. Reflecting their love for the Lord, both Justine and Bettye served Him for fifty years as members of Trinity Baptist Church. They lovingly passed their strong Christian heritage to their children and families. Justine was preceded in death by his parents, John and Theresa O'Quinn; brothers, John and Jacques; sister, Elnora; and grandson, Michael O'Quinn, son of Pat and Carolyn. He is survived by his precious wife of 67 years, Bettye Jane Miller O'Quinn. Son, Pat O'Quinn and wife Carolyn; grandson, Ryan O'Quinn and wife Stacey; great-grandsons, Hayes and Jack. Justine's daughter, Bethanyanne, and husband Dick Wilson of Destin, FL; grandson, Brant Wilson of Kansas City, MO; granddaughter, Monica Dahlem, and husband Scott; great-grandson, Carson, of Acworth, GA. Son, Brad O'Quinn and wife Chris, grandson, Connor, all of Kerrville, TX. Justine is also survived by his half-brother, Neil O'Quinn of Pittsburg, TX, and half-sisters Patsy Clark of Ft. Worth, TX, Goldie Von of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Jackie Doss of Dallas, TX and Jill Clifton of Pittsburg, TX. SERVICES Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday~October 29, 2005 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North.
