Karen Elaine Kondoff Brietzke

Karen Elaine Kondoff Brietzke, 66, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away August 16, 2026. She was born October 14, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas. She was the beloved daughter of Roger Buddy and Elizabeth Ann Kondoff. Karen is survived by her father, Roger Buddy Kondoff; son, Cody Brietzke, and his wife, Courtney; brother, Keith Kondoff and; his wife, Eileen, and brother Kevin Kondoff and his wife, Donna; along with cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Elizabeth Ann Kondoff. Karen graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1978, where she made many lifelong friends. She dedicated her career across opportunities and roles held with Red Arrow Freight, Southwest Airlines, SeaWorld San Antonio, Ledbetter Real Estate, and Carlson Wagonlit Travel, including volunteering her time with Meals on Wheels. While Karen spent most of her life in San Antonio, she briefly lived in Diamondhead, Mississippi, and later lived in Rockport, Texas, for several years, before returning home to San Antonio. Karen was a free and loving spirit, and her creative soul was reflected in the beautiful things she created and painted, as well as in her love of gardening, crafting, cooking, and transforming ordinary pieces into something uniquely her own. Karen was also known for her infectious personality, corny jokes, and unforgettable stories that could keep everyone laughing and listening. She never put herself first; she was always thinking of others and looking for ways to help, encourage, or simply brighten someone’s day. Karen will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her beautiful spirit, loving heart, and the joy she brought to others will live on in the memories she leaves behind. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Mission Park North, located at 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78230, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Rosary will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, located at 10703 Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78230 at 9:30 a.m., Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., and burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, located at 17501 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio, Texas 78266.
