Kristene was preceded in passing by her beloved parents, her brother, Michael Flores, and many dear aunts and uncles. She is survived by her devoted husband of over 41 years, Thomas Mills, and her cherished children: Kristol Rose Lopez, Martin (Valeri) Lopez, and Monique Sardia (Alexy Pagan) Mills. Her grandchildren, Jesus Lopez Mauricio, Jesalyn Mauricio, Mia Pagan, Dominic Pagan, Isis Lopez, Osiris Lopez, Jenisis Lopez, and Luna Lopez, along with her great-grandson, Jesus Antonio Mauricio, brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her siblings, Manuel Salazar, Tomas Salazar, and Jessica Reyna. Kristene was known for her outgoing personality and creative spirit. She had a special love for dragonflies and all things that sparkled. Her hands were rarely still, always crafting beautiful jewelry and intricate paper flowers that she would generously gift to friends, family, and even the nurses who cared for her. Her giving nature was a cornerstone of her character; she volunteered selflessly in her younger years and was always ready to offer a helping hand, especially to those in need of a ride to a doctor’s appointment or hospital visit. Kristene had a unique ability to connect with everyone she met. A true social butterfly, her positive energy radiated through every interaction. She shared a deep bond with her husband, Thomas, and they often embarked on adventures together, exploring the great outdoors through camping trips in cozy cabins. Though she accompanied him on hunting trips, her kind heart always led her to warn the animals, ensuring they had a chance to escape. One of Kristene's greatest joys was playing in the snow, a testament to her unwavering spirit and zest for life. Even through her battles, she never lost her radiant smile, serving as a beacon of light to all who knew her. Her presence in the lives of her family and friends was a gift, and her absence leaves an indescribable void.
