Landy Marcus Gill was born in San Angelo, Texas to Marcus Franklin Gill, Jr. and Marjorie Mae Fowler who await to welcome him in a higher place. He left his family and friends on April 16, 2021. As a child of a military family of this great country, he lived worldwide in places including Turkey and various states. Attending school in San Angelo, Humble and San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1979 where he met Angie. Landy was an avid sports fan and pitched Softball for many years as well as a regular tennis player. He was up for a challenge no matter the sport….he enjoyed a good statistical challenge. His basic training in the US Army began in 1984 and his service assigned him to Scofield Barracks Hawaii and Ft. Bliss Texas, where he transitioned to civilian life in 1992 after 8 honorable years of service to his Country. After the Military he resided in Las Vegas prior to his return to San Antonio which he made home. In 1995, he reconnected and married Angie Teague in 1996 (he only asked three times but that was the charm!) He is survived by his loving wife Angie, who together raised their beloved children: Kristin Ann Zimmer and husband Joshua, Justin Daniel Teague and wife Danae, Landen Marcus Gill and wife Allison, Morgan Bradley Gill and wife Kimberly, Ashley Nicole Chamartin and husband Adam, Taylor Alexander Gill and John Wilkins; and Nicholas Colton Gill; sister, Laura Marie “LaLa” Gill and his nephew Lawrence Shellaby; and a host of friends. His life was enriched by the birth of their grandchildren: Ethan, Isaiah, Jacob, and Josiah Zimmer, Evelyn Teague, Carter and Madilyn Gill, Adeline Gill, and Olivia and Brooklyn Chamartin. Landy’s wit, sense of humor, and love for others will never be forgotten. His family of aunts, uncles and many nephews and nieces will survive him in the present. He adored his family in his own way and respected, encouraged and complimented their individual qualities. His link in the chain of his circle was never the weakest part and will be remembered by that same circle as part of the foundation. Never was there a dull moment in his life or a lack of contribution to those around him. He will be missed by all who had the benefit of his friendship. Recounting the memories would be immeasurable in time. His laughter will be missed and will be remembered by all of his family and friends. SERVICES: Please join us as we remember a Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Dear Friend to all as we Celebrate His Life at a Memorial that will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Private Interment will take place at a later date at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
