Larry Alan Van Dyke, born on July 6, 1937, was called home by the Lord on August 23, 2025. A man of faith, strength, and unwavering devotion to his family, Larry leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rebekah Van Dyke, who passed on January 26, 2014, as well as by his loving parents and all of his siblings. Their reunion in Heaven brings comfort to those who mourn his earthly absence. Larry is survived by his children, who were the pride of his heart: son Jeff Van Dyke, daughter April Hook and her husband Bryan, and daughter Valerie Van Dyke Ramsey and her husband Blair. He was also a devoted grandfather to four grandsons who brought him immeasurable joy: Luke Van Dyke Gillenwater, Pierce Van Dyke Ramsey, Briggs Van Dyke Ramsey, and Beckham Van Dyke Ramsey. To them, he was not only “Poppa” but also a mentor, encourager, and their greatest fan. Larry had a distinguished career in insurance, culminating with 20 years of service at USAA, where he took immense pride in his work and in serving others with integrity. Beyond his career, Larry was a man who lived life with passion. He found joy in fishing, playing pool, golf, and all things Oklahoma Sooners, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer on his team. Those who knew Larry will remember his warm smile, quick wit, and steadfast loyalty. He treasured his friends and extended family deeply, nurturing lifelong relationships that brought richness to his journey. He also held a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews, as well as for the generations that followed, his grandnieces and grandnephews, each of whom he loved dearly and celebrated with pride. To them, he was more than an uncle; he was a source of encouragement, laughter, and wisdom. Larry’s life was one of faith, hard work, and love...a life well-lived and a legacy that will continue to shine through the lives of those he touched. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day." - 2 Timothy 4:7-8
