Laura-Jo Beavers entered eternal rest on November 23, 2022, at the age of 79 surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in San Antonio, TX to Joe and Laura Lee (Schmidt) Janowski on October 22, 1943. Laura-Jo graduated from Harlandale High School in 1962. She began her work career at CPS Energy where she met and married her fellow co-worker, the late Jerry Beavers, and they made their home in Adkins, TX. Laura-Jo dedicated her time to raising her two sons before she began her work with Jackson & Jackson, P.C. as a Legal Secretary. She then moved to Probate Court 1 as a Court Auditor for Judge Polly Jackson Spencer. During her time at Jackson & Jackson, P.C., Laura-Jo and Jerry welcomed their daughter in 1978. In 2014 Laura-Jo and Jerry celebrated 50 years of marriage. Laura-Jo was a dedicated, loving Mom and Mammy. She cherished her kids and grandkids and enjoyed spending every possible moment with them. Over the years she supported her sons in Cub Scouts, was a Girl Scout troop leader for her daughter, her home always welcomed the neighborhood kids, was an active member of the Lone Oak Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and led the LOVFD fundraising picnic raffle for many years. She also enjoyed playing bunco with the ladies each month. After retirement she organized the monthly Bexar County Courthouse Retiree Luncheon; this is just one example of how she enjoyed bringing people together. Laura-Jo is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Laura Lee (Schmidt) Janowski; beloved husband, Jerry Beavers; brothers, William “Bill” and Richard “Dickie” Janowski. Laura-Jo is survived by her children, Jared Beavers (Kristie), Dale Beavers (Kristen), and Leslie Ramos (Manuel); grandchildren, Zoey Heckman, Keira Heckman, Cameryn Heckman, Kaylie Beavers, and Jayden Beavers; other loving family members and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, December 2, 2022, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Good News Lutheran Church (11020 Old Corpus Christi Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78223). Interment will follow at Warncke Cemetery.
