Leola Mae Roundtree

Leola M. Roundtree entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 26, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on December 8, 1932, in Fredericksburg, Texas, to Helmuth and Lena Nehr Roeder, Leola lived a life marked by faith, humility, hard work, and unwavering love for her family. Leola was known for her quiet strength, gentle spirit, and steadfast character. She spent many years working for Tindall Pontiac as a title clerk, where her dedication, dependability, and willingness to help with whatever was needed earned the admiration and respect of coworkers, customers, and lifelong friends. She took great pride in her German heritage and embraced the values of faith, family, and perseverance that were instilled in her from an early age. Her home was a reflection of the love and care she poured into everything she did. She found great joy tending to her beautiful rose garden, creating a place of peace and beauty that she loved to share with family and friends. Of all the blessings in her life, none brought her greater happiness than her family. She especially cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their accomplishments, laughter, and love filled her heart with immeasurable pride and joy. Leola was a devoted member of Concordia Lutheran Church. Her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was the foundation of her life and carried her through both seasons of joy and times of hardship. She lived her faith through kindness, compassion, humility, and quiet service to others, trusting always in God's promises. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Debra G. Roundtree; her parents, Helmuth and Lena Nehr Roeder; her sister, Vernice Kirchhoff, and brother-in-law, Raymond Kirchhoff; and her son-in-law, Greg S. Newton. She leaves behind her loving daughter, Marilyn K. Newton; granddaughter Kaylin N. Bohannon and her husband, Nelson; grandson Colten S. Newton and his wife, Allison; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Kenna, Jenson, Jessa, Gentry, Maislee, and Charleen. She also leaves behind many dear friends and former coworkers whose lives were enriched by her friendship, generosity, and quiet example. Leola will be remembered not only for what she accomplished, but for the way she lived—with grace, dignity, unwavering faith, and a heart devoted to those she loved. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the assurance that she now rests in the eternal peace of her Savior.
