GARCIA LeRoy O’Neal Garcia joined his Lord on May 15, 2024 at his residence in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on December 15, 1946 in Dallas, Texas to Pete Garcia and Victoria Laza. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Linda, and his sisters Linda Easdon (Bud) and Elaine Smith (Gary). He is survived by his son, David Garcia (Naomi); daughter, Jennifer Lee Garcia; sisters, Mary Ann Saur (Martin) & Nancy Winslow; brothers, Kenneth Garcia (Cindy), Pete Garcia (Lisa), Joe Garcia (Kim), & John Garcia (Cathy); grandsons, Robert, Roger, and Michael Garcia; and numerous nieces and nephews. CAREER LeRoy leaves behind a lasting legacy in education as a speech, art and drama teacher within the San Antonio ISD at South San High School and within the Northside ISD at Pease, Stinson and Jordan Middle Schools and Jay & Warren High Schools. PERSONAL LIFE He devoted a lifetime towards the Boy Scouts of America, first as a Boy Scout, then later as a Scoutmaster for his son David and later as assistant Scoutmaster for his grandson Robert. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow which later sparked his interest in Native American culture. This inspired him to become a member of the Texas Indian Heritage Association (TIHA) and the United San Antonio Pow Wow which he shared with his daughter Jennifer who was named as Princess in 2001. After his retirement, he continued his work with arts and crafts and was a prominent vendor at the King William Fair, Starving Artist Show and was even the featured artist at the Huffhines Art Trails show in Richardson, Texas. He also enjoyed his time as a member of the San Antonio Potters Guild and taking classes at the Southwest School of Art. LeRoy was a devoted husband to his wife, Linda for 54 years and will always be remembered as a amazing father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. SERVICES Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 5:00pm- 8:00pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral Services will be on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 9:00 am at the funeral home chapel, with interment to follow at 2:00 pm at Mission Burial Park North.
