Linda Ramirez Larson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all, known by many as “Gramsie”, passed away in her home in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by her family on November 9, 2022 at age 86. She was and always will be so very loved by all her family and friends. Linda had a genuine, joyous, kind and loving personality that drew everyone she knew close to her. Born the 3rd of 6 children to Luciano Ramirez and Socorro Sapinoso in Cavite City, Philippines, she was always described as a dependable and caring sister whom they often leaned on throughout their lives. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science & Masters in Business Administration with focus in Finance & Banking from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines, she pursued her dreams of working for a large successful U.S. corporation, Brown & Root Inc. in South Vietnam, where she excelled for many years and accomplished so much. There she met her husband, Herman Don Larson, where they fell in love and later moved to Houston to raise their only daughter, Erika. Later in life, Linda worked for the U.S. Department of Defense as an Investigator, DOW Chemical USA, as well as, Texas A&M University System. She was also fluent in 4 languages and traveled to over 8 countries. In her spare time, Linda was very active in her community. She was a member of Junior League of Houston, volunteered at the local American Legion post, member of the St. Mark’s Women’s Guild, and received several Presidential Sports Awards for her excellence in mentoring and volunteering at local Houston elementary schools. Towards the end of her life, Linda moved to San Antonio, Texas in 2007 to be near her daughter and grandchildren, where she lived up until her final days. She would often be found on the front porch rocking chair enjoying nature and the local neighborhood deer. She loved spending time in the kitchen and was often called upon by friends and family for cooking recipes. Creating delicious meals for her family, doctors, nurses and friends was a passion of hers. In addition, Linda was a very skilled piano player, playing any song by ear without even needing a sheet of music, and loved sharing her gift of music with her grandchildren, filling the house with joy. She is reunited in heaven with her husband, Herman Don Larson; sisters, Soledad Roses, Amelia Basco, and Leticia Carlson; her parents; and one of her beloved English Bulldogs, Sammie. Linda is survived by her only daughter, Erika Grimm and husband Steve Grimm; her beautiful grandchildren, Madeline and Kendra; her brothers, Dante and Percy Ramirez; many many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; as well as her adored French Bulldog, Penny. Her family was the light of her life. She cherished every moment with them. We were so fortunate to have been surrounded by her love for so long, and to have been inspired by her faith. She provided a foundation of grace, kindness and fellowship that will continue to guide her family and touch all of those lucky enough to have known her. —---- Services with family and friends will be held on Monday, November 21 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church 1602 Thousand Oaks Dr, San Antonio, TX 78232. (Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m; Service/Mass 12:00 p.m. -12:45 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. reception immediately following) She will be laid to rest by with her husband at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston, Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
