Tributes

Linda Lou Ybarra passed away and into the loving arms of our Lord at the age of 55 years old on October 15, 2011. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and niece. She was survived by her father, Luis Ybarra, preceded in death by her mother, Della Marie Ybarra, and four sisters; Rachel Dominguez and brother-in-law, Ismael Dominguez, Rose DeHoyos, Della Ybarra, Julie Ybarra, and her brother, Luis John Ybarra, as well as, many nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on August 4, 1956, and also resided in Los Angeles, California during her childhood years, then later returned to Texas with her family. At a young age, Linda developed a passion for drawing and was very creative. During her High School years, she was employed to design posters for Church activities and she continued painting into her college years. She later received a degree in Fine Arts. Her love for painting and drawing never diminished, and her hope was to continue her education in San Francisco, California the city that she loved. Unfortunately, her illness did not allow her to achieve her dreams. We were very fortunate and privileged to have had her in our lives; she was a caring and dedicated daughter to our mother and father. Linda was a very trusting and considerate human being, and even during her long battle with her illness, she endured her pain in silence. Her strength was tremendous and spoke volumes for her character. We will miss her laughter, smile, and wonderful humor, and most of all her soft gentle voice. We will always remember her as in the picture above; young, sweet, innocent, and full of life. If only we could have had one more day with her in our lives, unfortunately, that still would not have been enough. Our wish is that she knew how much we loved her and how our hearts will ache without her. Time may not be enough to help ease the pain of our sudden loss, but it may help to deepen our memories of all that was good about her. Linda had always wished that she could walk again; we are assured that she is now walking through the gates of Heaven with our Mothers guidance. Goodbye, Sweet Sister, until we see each other again.
