Lois Irene Bannon, a precious daughter, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025 at Sodalis Assisted Living in Wharton, Texas at the age of 92. Lois was born in Rosalia, Washington on September 2, 1932 to Minnie Pittmann Terrell and Les Terrell. From the age of 2 she was lovingly raised by her step-father, Wesley Williams. She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael J Bannon (USAF), her parents, Minnie and Wes Williams and Les Terrell. Lois was a proud graduate of Rosalia High School class of 1950 and loved traveling with her long time school girlfriends Sally, Jan, JoAnn and Yvonne. In high school she played drums, several sports and was a cheerleader for the Rosalia Spartans. She loved music, playing piano, and singing along to her favorite hymns and songs. As an Air Force wife, she was quite good at household organization, including packing up, moving and unpacking in various places during her lifetime; including Washington, California, Idaho, North Carolina, England and Texas. After retirement she enjoyed driving her red Cadillac all around Texas to watch her grandkids play sports, do performances of all kinds and just have fun family time. In her later years, Lois faced the challenges of dementia with grace. Her family cherished the moments of clarity and connections, celebrating her spirit even as the disease progressed. We are so thankful for the love and care of all the staff at Sodalis Senior Living where she was allowed to live out her final years. She is survived by her children, Linda Sue Bock (Garland) of Magnet; Richard Bannon (Mary) of Nacogdoches; Sheila Hunter (Tommy Crain) of Adkins; seven grandchildren : Chris Bock (Tamara), Brian Rich (Katie); Shelley Gordon (Josh); Jennifer Self (Dan); Chris Bannon (Kali); Gary Sanchez (Selena); Stacie Olivarri (Jesse); twelve Great grandchildren: Brittany Howell (Keith); Brody and Celia Rich; Lachlan and Georgia Gordon; Ty and Jake Self; Hudson, Hayes, Harrison, and Blair Bannon; Corynne Olivarri; and three Great great grandchildren: Baylor, Reed and Presley Howell. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 1:00PM at Magnet Baptist Church, in Magnet, Texas. She will be interred at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio, alongside her husband. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Magnet Baptist Church, or to your local church in her name.
