Bluebonnets, hummingbirds, butterflies, and frogs – these were a few of her favorite things. Beloved mother of three, grandmother to seven, great-grandmother to fifteen & great-great grandmother to four, Willie Lois Allen Mann went to be with our Lord on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the age of 96. Fondly known by all as G'ma, she was born on July 1, 1918 to William L. & Nettie Allen. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James W. Mann, Sr., great-grandson, Justin F. Kahn, and her Allen siblings: sister Barbara Lucylle, brothers Lester, Wayne, Elmer & WL. Lois is survived by her daughter Judy & son-in-law Bobby Holly of Fort Valley, GA; grandchildren Jeff Cindi Holly, Perry, GA; Kim Charles Cunningham, Colorado Springs, CO, Robyn Franchi, Fort Valley, GA & Terri Wellman, Lawrenceville, GA; Great-grandchildren, Kyle Dani Franchi, Cameron Franchi, Conner Franchi, Drew Cunningham, Rebecca Robert Houston, Holly Cunningham, Ashlyn Craig Skelton, Austyn Holly & Holden Wellman. Great-great granddaughters Alexandra Franchi & Genevieve Franchi. Survived also by son James W. Mann, Jr. & daughter-in-law Dorothy of Bergheim, TX; granddaughters Kelly Wilson, Weatherford, TX & Jodi Gary Bellamy, San Antonio, TX; Great-grandchildren Douglas Davis, Brittany Dustin Thompson, & Caitlyn Brandon Swartz, Matthew Bellamy & Jillian Bellamy. Great-great grandchildren Aidyn Thompson & Blakely Thompson. Survived also by daughter, Betty & son-in-law Clinton Cook of Helotes, TX; granddaughter Cheryl Kahn, Helotes, TX; great-grandson Travis Kahn, Port Aransas, TX. Lois was a long time resident of San Antonio, a charter member of Manor Baptist Church, member of Texas Star Lodge, Ladies Auxiliary – Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen & worked in the Chemistry Department at San Antonio College. She enjoyed helping others through the Lunch Bunch program at Manor & the Jefferson Co-Op. She enjoyed playing dominoes with her special friends, Mary Kay Eisenbrey, Nell Faulk & Lorraine Ralls. Wildflower outings in the Texas Hill Country, shelling, especially on Sanibel Island, FL and the wonderful peaches & beautiful peach tree blossoms in GA were among G'mas favorite memories. The family wishes to thank Lois' wonderful neighbors for their kindness in watching over her & her home: the Alvas, Galindos & Oliveras. Thank you to Christus Santa Rosa Hospitals – Medical Center & Westover Hills, and the Christus Sister Mary Hospice & Palliative Care. SERVICES Evening visitation will be from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. on Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 9:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bill Shockley, officiating. A graveside service will follow at San Fernando III Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Senior Services Meals-on-Wheels Program, San Antonio, TX or a charity of your choice.
