Lou Marr Carter Tucker, lover of life, died on April 27, 2017, having side-stepped cancer years beyond expectations. Born in Carrizo Springs, Texas on May 7, 1931 to Robert Henry and Leita Carter, she was named after her grandmothers, Louisa and Margaret. Lou Marr was always dearly beloved by her younger sister and brother, Carolyn and Bob. The three had the strongest of bonds and were always the closest of friends. After moving with her family to San Antonio, she graduated from Alamo Heights High School then attended SMU, where she pledged Tri Delta, until beckoned to OU by handsome, young Allan Tucker. They married on December 28, 1951, were graced with their treasured only child, Cary, two years later and warmly welcomed family and friends to their beautiful home on Friar Tuck to enjoy Lou Marr’s fabulous cooking for 50 great years. Always ready for a party, they enjoyed memberships in the Town Club, the Order of the Alamo, and The Petroleum Club of San Antonio. Generous, beautiful and determined, Lou Marr will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. A secretary in her early career, Lou Marr later found her passion as a realtor, working for Kuper Realty for many years, where her beloved grandson, Adam, has joined the firm as a manager. Amazed she lived long enough to know her two great grandchildren, Eleanor and Max, Lou Marr gave thanks for such a rich blessing. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Allan Tucker; and Allan’s brother and wife, Lewis and Stevie Tucker. She is survived by her daughter, Cary Tucker, and husband, Michael Biechlin; their son, Adam Biechlin, his wife Ashlee and their children, Eleanor and Max; her sister, Carolyn Carter Fisher and husband George; and her brother, Bob Carter and wife Mary; and many adoring nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family gives special thanks to her devoted caregivers Bridget, Virginia, Monique, and Desarae; to Heart to Heart Hospice; and for the tender loving attention given by the ministers from Christ Episcopal Church, where she was a lifelong member. Services to be held on May 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Christ Episcopal Church, 510 Belknap Place, San Antonio, Texas with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway.Donations may be made to Christ Episcopal Church.
