Louis was born on December 8th, 1957 to Maria and Luis Galindo. In the beginning – it was just Louis and Momma as his daddy was serving in the U.S. Army in Germany. The bond between Mother and son was inseparable and continued to the day his journey began to the heavens where he joined his parents and our choir of angels. Louis Jr. graduated from St. Gerard’s Regional High School in 1976. During that time, he and his compadres - Michael Hoyt, Don Foster and Albert Ploch created lifelong friendships. A member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Louis served as an altar boy and was a member of the choir alongside with his dear friend Kevin and the Prevou Family. After graduation, Louis attended St. Mary’s University earning an Associate’s Degree and Certificate of Title as an Interior Designer in January 1980. His sense of adventure led him to relocate to New Orleans, Louisiana where he honed his craft and found joy in the rich history of the French Quarter. Years later, he would return home to San Antonio and worked at Sea World of Texas. The relationships he developed with his co-workers formed into his extended family who cherish his friendship to this day. After 15 years, a career change brought him to QVC. He adapted expertly to all the changes in technology and was able to work remotely from home. He retired from QVC in November 2023. Always one to follow his own path, Louis found true happiness in the bonds he formed with his co-workers, especially Gloria, Wanda and Pablo. A gentle soul, Louis rescued a Havanese puppy who he named “Mojo”. Together they enjoyed hikes at Government Canyon, brunches at The Pearl and retired life at the country home of his parents Maria and Charles Whitehead. As Louis tended to momma’s flowers – Mojo would be at his heels making sure daddy took time to play with him. Louis’ journey home began on the evening of January 24, 2024. He had recently shared in conversation that he knew it was time to “Go Home”. He was excited to share that he was “going to be with his momma”. Louis started his journey to the heavens in the loving arms of his family. Louis is survived by his step-mother – Guadalupe Galindo, sisters Anna (Kellie) and Belinda (Jeff), and brothers Rudolph, Michael (Joanne), Nephews – Dietrich, Joshua, Cross, Jonah and Nieces Kassidie, Danielle, Jenna Rae and Rarity. In addition, he is survived by beloved Tias – Toni, Janie, Maria, Terri (Emilio) and Sara (Rudy). He shared a special connection with his cousin Rita Rodriguez, The Altar Society of El Carmen and countless beloved first and second cousins on the Galindo and Gonzales side of the family. Respecting Louis’ final wishes – he be cremated and interred at El Carmen Catholic Cemetery, San Antonio Texas.
