Manuel ‘Manny’ Garcia went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 30th, 2023 at his residence in San Antonio, Texas He was born on August 12, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas to Mr. Leo and Herlinda Garcia Proceeded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years, Joycelyn Dusang Garcia, and brother Leo E. Garcia, Junior He is survived by his many beloved children, daughters; Yolanda Thompson (William ‘Big Ed’ Thompson), Terri Ann Cantu, Annalyn Valdez-Conlan (Chris); sons Michael Anthony Garcia, Manuel Jake Garcia, Jr., Frank Kuhn (Natalie); daughter in-law, Julie Kuhn; numerous grandchildren, including Jason Ferguson, Justin Payne, Andrew Garcia (Michele), Isis and Raini Conlan; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, including Lee Anthony Garcia Sr., Leo E. ‘Paso’ Garcia III, Anna Maria ‘Sister’ Garcia-Avalos; and pets, Buddy, Ricki, Winston and Oreo Manny was a loving, caring, understanding and a mostly patient husband and father. He was always wishing to help others, especially to any who he saw as an underdog in life. He possessed a remarkable green thumb with plants and flowers of all varieties thriving in his care. Manny was an animal aficionado who always had numerous animals of all types as his beloved pets. Eternal project, workshop tinkerer and self-made handyman who never read the included instructions until afterwards. He had an irreverent sense of humor who did not suffer fools gladly. Often a humorous and colorful curser with a passion for Tejano music and a cold cerveza. He was a lifelong and proud San Antonio Spurs Fan with his Old School Spurs Caps and a devoted father who united us all, especially with his love to share meals together He captained and navigated a grand and epic months long cross country RV journey through much of the United States with the help of his beloved wife, Joycelyn, and pets in tow. Manny spent 22 Years’ in the Military Service - U.S. Air Force, TGST, 12 Years’ Civil Service, Kelly Air Force Base. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, Knights of Columbus Knight and member of many 19th Hole Associations. An accomplished golfer with an amazing & consistent working man’s golf swing and short game who seldom never gave the hole away with a breaking three-footer. Always let his sticks and putter do his talking on the golf course Manny will be admired and respected by all those he leaves behind, and they will forever be touched by his easy going demeanor, warm infectious crazy laughs, funny sense of humor and his countless adventures and funny misadventures, too
