AN ALZHEIMER'S POEM Do not ask me to remember, don't try to make me understand. Let me rest and know you're with me, kiss my cheek and hold my hand. I'm confused beyond your concept, I am sad and sick and lost. All I know is that I need you to be with me at all cost. Do not lose your patience with me, do not scold or curse nor cry. I can't help the way I'm acting, can't be different though I try. Just remember that I need you, that the best in me is gone. Please don't fail to stand beside me, love me until my life is done. Manuela Mamie Rosas Ordaz-Scott 90 passed peacefully into our Lord's hands on Friday, October 30, 2015. She was born in Piedras Negras, Mexico on December 12, 1924 and was a resident of San Antonio for over 85 years. Mamie, as she was known to all was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel and Manuela Rosas; her husbands, Pedro G. Ordaz and Roy B. Scott; and her beloved and cherished son, Oscar R. Ordaz; as well as 13 siblings. She is survived by her devoted son, Pete R. Ordaz and daughter-in-law, Vicki; grandchildren, Sonia Annette Peters Dave, Jason Thomas Ordaz April, Ryan Oscar Ordaz Lizette and Marissa Nicole Ordaz Sam; as well as her precious great grandchildren, Troy Ryan Ordaz, Leah Rae Ordaz, Tenley Jae Ordaz, Case Erich Ordaz, Lexi Rae Ordaz, Kinslee Rivers Ordaz, Brenden Lawrence Marion, and impending birth of Samuel Jacob Gallegos; she is also survived by her loving sister, Micaela Rosas Gonzalez; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Mamie was a 50 plus year member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and enjoyed the regular company of the Brigidine Sisters who would lovingly visit her regularly at her home before and after the diagnosis of her illness. She loved ballroom dancing, singing and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends as well as her "fun" trips to Las Vegas. Mamie was both a San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys die-hard fan and would never miss the opportunity to watch them play on TV even while battling her illness. She followed the exploits of her grandchildren's athletic endeavors with great passion and support and will be missed dearly by them as well as all that knew her. The family wishes to thank the caring nurses and staff of Mesa Vista Inn Health Center, especially Norma Zarceno, Javer Chavez and all of her loyal family and friends for their support. SERVICES Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive. The Procession will depart the Funeral Home Chapel at 9:15 A.M. for a Funeral Mass at St. Paul's Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
