On Thursday, August 4, 2022, the Rojas family lost their patriarch in a heartbreaking instance. Marcos M Rojas lost his life suddenly while doing what he loved, carpentry finishing work. In a swift moment while working he suffered a fatal heart attack. Marcos was born in El Rincon del Guayabal, Mexico on September 4, 1954, to Ezequiel Rojas and Leonor Martinez. He grew up with many brothers and sisters, whom he loved very much. Marcos didn’t have the opportunity for much formal education. He helped out on his family’s small ranch and worked any odd jobs he could find starting at a very early age. His work ethic and passion for woodworking led to him immigrating to the United States at 17 years old. He settled in San Antonio TX where he met his late wife San Juanita Rojas. They had two children, Leonor Rojas and Marcos Rojas Jr. His passion for woodworking and carpentry, and ultimately the cooler weather took him to Milwaukee Wisconsin, where he has lived since about 1995 or so. After working with many home designers over the years, he finally started his own Finishing Company. He did many home projects for the Milwaukee area and surrounding towns. He was well known in the community and even did some work for Willie G Davidson, of the famous Harley-Davison Motorcycle Company and for the Pabst Family of Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewing Company. He was very proud of the work he did and very passionate. He loved to travel and tell tall tales of his experiences. He would work hard during the warmer months and in the harsh winters of Wisconsin, he would jet away to Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica and of course to Florida where most of his siblings lived. He worked hard and played harder! His tireless love and devotion to his family were evident in his final moments. Marcos was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister and wife San Juanita Rojas. He is survived by his children, Leonor Rojas and Marcos Rojas; grandchildren Tristan Weltzin, Kaleb Hansen, Diana Rodriguez, Marc Rojas and Isaiah Rojas; great granddaughter Giselle Rojas; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service is planned for September 18, 2022, from 12 pm to 2pm. The service will be at Mission Park Funeral Chapels – Cherry Ridge on 3401 Cherry Ridge Dr, San Antonio, TX 78230. The Rojas Family invites all to attend. To honor his wishes, his children will be scattering Marcos’ ashes at a private ceremony at a later time. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
