Margarita S. Garcia, age 88, of San Antonio, passed away in the late evening hours of Monday, December 12, 2022, in San Antonio. Margarita was born on October 13, 1934, in Guadalajara, Mexico, to the late Andres and Juana Solano. She left her country and her family at age 13 to seek a better life in the United States. Margarita married the love of her life, and her best friend Candido S. Garcia, on October 23, 1959, in San Antonio. Together they would spend the next 53 years raising children and grandchildren, laughing, loving, and living a lifetime of memories; he preceded her in death on July 30, 2012. Margarita was a faithful servant of Christ and devoted her life to serving God, her family, and her church. She was a prayer warrior who loved to read the bible and if she wasn't at church or spending time with her family she was either making crafts to fundraise or out visiting the sick and the elderly, bringing a message of hope to their final days. Margarita had a hand in raising all 8 grandchildren. As they all called her, Tita loved to love on them but did not spare the "chancla" when one of them was out of line. That feisty side of her was not only reserved for her grandchildren as all those who loved her might have received a scolding or two at some point. “Tita” was an excellent cook, while she may not have loved cooking, she showed her love by providing food to anyone who came to her home. Tita’s life was a model of the virtuous woman as described in the Proverbs and her loss will leave a void in the hearts of those she knew and loved for generations to come. She is survived by two daughters, Leticia Hickey, and husband Brian, and Elsie Garcia, and husband Jose; one son, Ricardo Garcia and wife Fili; grandchildren, Jessica Garcia, and husband Rick, Michaela Kyler, and husband Michael, Briana Mason, and husband Troy, Valerie Garcia, Julianne Garcia, Gabriela Garcia, Ricardo Garcia. and Fili Garcia; and by a host of other relatives and very special friends. Funeral services for Margarita “Tita” Garcia will be held at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Central Church of God. 210 Calles St. San Antonio, TX 78207. Visitation will be held from 5:00 -6:00 P.M., at the church. Final Farewell at 9:30 at Mission Park Funeral Home, 1700 SE Military Drive. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at San Fernando II.
