Marie Elizabeth King was born March 20, 1931 in Libertytown, Maryland to Robie Fogle and Helen Baker-Fogle. The third of seven children, she spent many happy hours making wonderful memories with her brothers and sisters: Genevieve, Margaret, Johnny, Roy, Barbara Jean, and James (“Jimmy”). One of her favorites she shared with her sisters was pretending to be “The Adventure Girls”, based on author Claire Blank’s series by the same name. Marie married the love of her life, James “Jim” King, November 18, 1949. This is when her adventures truly began. Jim’s military career took them across the United States and around the world; including assignments in Korea, Washington D.C., Okinawa (Kadena A.F.B.), Illinois (Chanute A.F.B.), France (Etain), North Africa (Tripoli, Libya), Viet Nam (Danang), and San Antonio (Lackland A.F.B. and Brooks A.F.B.); where they retired. They were blessed with three daughters and one son. Judy was born while they were in Washington D.C., Julie while in France, Jeanne while in Africa, and Jeffery at their last assignment in San Antonio. Once Jeanne and Jeffery were in school, Marie took a position as an instructional aide with North East Independent School District at Camelot Elementary; working with kindergarten students for a brief time. She then transferred to assistant in a special education classroom, where she would spend the majority of her years of service. Her greatest joy was helping students learn to read. She became known for wearing her crazy socks, colorful outfits, and for her playful antics. She loved to share the gift of laughter! Her love of life was also shared with a group of special ladies in the swim aerobics class she attended for over twenty years. Both her work family and her water aerobics family held special places in her heart. As the matriarch of her family, her home was always a safe haven and her love unconditional. She built precious memories with her children and grandchildren; such as spending the day making homemade donuts, putting puzzles together, making pulled taffy, camping across the United States, taking road trips to various K-Marts, and making holiday crafts. She supported them through attending their concerts, sporting and cheer events, graduations and awards assemblies, birthday parties, and any other events that were special to them. The greatest gift she leaves is her love of life and the ability to dance through life’s challenges with a positive attitude and unwavering trust in God. This carried her through two strokes and the loss of a kidney within a year’s time. She would make a full recovery and continue to run circles around people half her age! Two months prior to her passing, she was still riding ten miles at a time on her stationary bike. At ninety one years old, her body grew tired and in the early morning hours of Monday, October 3, 2022, Marie peacefully entered into the arms of her Savior. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, and son in law, Sean Moore. Remaining to carry on her legacy are her children, Judith Moore, Julie King, Jeanne King, and Jeffery King (Michelle). Her grandchildren, Terri Lynn Lankford (Jamie), Nathan Moore (Ashley), Jill Nieswiadomy (Nathan), Katrina King, Taylor King (fiance, Trent Preston), Robie King, James Reed King, Hannah King, Daniel King, Abby Inzurriaga. Step grandchildren, Connor Schultze (fiance, Skylar Vaughn), Faith Schultze and Fabian Schultze. Great grandchildren, Adrianna Cervantez, Cailyn Moore, Owen Moore, Evelyn Nieswiadomy, Flynn Nieswiadomy, William Grunwell, Khai Schultze, Jax Manrique and Willow Schultze, along with numerous extended family members in Maryland.
