MARIE EVANS MORGENROTH GLADYS MARIE RILEY was born April 1, 1929 to Charles Henry and Willie Ethel West Riley in Stockdale, Texas. Marie moved with her family to San Antonio in 1935 where she graduated from Hot Wells High School in 1946. Marie was baptized at the age of seventeen and has attended Southeast Church of Christ since 1972.On January 7, 1947 Marie married Herbert L.Evans.They had two children, Renabeth and Scott Evans.They were divorced for the final time in 1971. Marie married Marvin W. Morgenroth after a lengthy courtship on February 9, 1979 at which time she became "mom" to Marvin Lynn, Cecil and Russell. Marie is survived by her children Renabeth Evans, Scott Evans and wife, Robin, Marvin Morgenroth and wife, Alice, Cecil Morgenroth and wife, Rebecca and Russell Morgenroth and wife, Sara, her two sisters, Deanie Hartman and husband, Charlie and Charlene Tausch and husband, Tope. She also leaves behind nephews Randall Hartman, Russell Hartman, Travis Tausch and niece Marissa McCoy and their families. Marie is grandmother to four Evans grandchildren, Amy Hoch and husband, Lyndon and Zane Artz and wife, Doris, Shane Evans and wife, Leslie and Jana Evans, and great-grandmother to Zachary, Evan, and Allison Hoch and Nevada and Zane "Bubba" Artz. On the Morgenroth side, she is grandmother to Audra Smith and husband, Jeff, Andrew Morgenroth and wife, Renee, Aaron Morgenroth and wife, Samantha, Cody Morgenroth and wife, Barbie and Tyler Morgenroth and wife, Konstanz, Jacob Morgenroth and wife, Ashly, Blair McCracken and Zachary Daniel and wife, Janie and great grandmother to Katelyn, Cora, Wyatt, Ryan, Kylie, Aubrey and Johonna Morgenroth, Grace and Eve McCracken and Joshua Daniel with more on the way! She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Princess, who was her constant almost-human companion and best friend. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husbands and numerous dear friends. In her life she worked as a housekeeper, soda jerk, legal secretary, shop owner, real estate appraiser and forty years as a real estate broker and business owner. Her purple real estate signs were well known throughout the Southside of San Antonio and the infamous purple shag carpet installed in 1964 was still present at her business location on Hot Wells until the sale of the property in 1999. Some thirty five years later! It seemed both the carpet and Marie would never wear out! She was an excellent homemaker with nothing being left undone. She was the "Queen of Clean". Her family, home and profession where her passions. Marie went home with great anticipation of meeting her Lord October 26, 2012 with her family and friends by her side. SERVICES Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. ~ 8:00 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with interment following at Mission Burial Park South.
