Mary Louise Cielencki, "Mimi" or "Uncle Mimi", age 80, of San Antonio, Texas, took the Lord's hand to heaven on June 21, 2016, in her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in San Antonio on July 24, 1935, to parents Leander Friesenhahn and Helen Schuwirth Friesenhahn. She graduated from East Central High School in 1953 and married Andrew Cielencki on May 18, 1957. She had a career working at Steen and Steen Insurance Company for many years. She then took a break to raise her only child. She then decided to become a substitute teacher for the East Central ISD. After a few years she became a paraprofessional at Pecan Valley Elementary where she worked until her retirement. She was also an active member in various rolls within the St. Jerome's Catholic Church community. She also played the roll of coordinator for many bridal and baby showers of her large family. "Mimi" also played a vital role in preparing Sunday dinners at Oma's and then carried on the tradition at her home after her mother passed. Mary Louise Cielencki is survived by her son Todd Cielencki; sister, Clara Rechner and husband Richard; brother, Harold Friesenhahn and wife Mary Agnes; brother, Roy Friesenhahn and wife Karen; brother, Freddy Friesenhahn and wife Barbara; and sisters–in-law, Mildred, Marlene, and Charlcie Friesenhahn, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Cielencki; parents, Leander and Helen Friesenhahn; sister, JoNelda Zaiontz and husband John; and brothers, Vernon, Roman, and Marshall Friesenhahn. A viewing will be held at St. Jerome's Catholic Church at 10:00 am, followed by rosary and mass at 11:00 am. Funeral procession to St. Jerome's Catholic Cemetery will depart immediately following mass. A special thanks to Guiding Light Hospice, and to her nurses Tobi, Amy, Susan, Susan, and Sharon. Mary Louise also has two guardian angels, Alma and Stephanie Elizalde, who have taken excellent care of her during her last months. Also, a very special thank you needs to be expressed to her sister, Clara and her two nieces, Gayle and Robyn who provided numerous visits and extra care in the past few months and her glorious last days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the The Children's Hospital of San Antonio Foundation or the St. Jerome's Catholic Church Building Fund.
