Mary Jane Dromgoole, age 81, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on January 20, 1944, and later made Texas her forever home. She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Robert Gus Dromgoole. Their incredible love story began when she was just 15 years old and blossomed into a lifetime filled with faith, resilience, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Together, they built a strong, loving family rooted in tradition, a bond that exemplifies eternal love. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her beloved daughters, Baby Dromgoole and Jane Ann Dromgoole. She is survived by her sons: Robert C. Dromgoole (Audrey), Michael A. Dromgoole (Carmen), and Dennis E. Dromgoole (Edith). She leaves behind her grandchildren: Jane Ann Rodriguez (Gerald), Dennis Lee Dromgoole (Madahi), Aaron Dromgoole, Marc Dromgoole, Brooke Ramirez (Kevin), and Annie Marie Dromgoole. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Isabella, Jackson, Luka, and Elijah. Mary Jane was truly one of a kind, fierce, loving, and unforgettable. She may have been small in stature, but her presence was larger than life. Everyone always knew when she was around because of her loud, contagious laugh, a laugh so full of joy and life that it echoed through every room she entered. That laugh, paired with her bold spirit and beautiful personality, made her absolutely unforgettable. She was known for her homemade cakes, her comforting chicken and dumplings, and the Thanksgiving feasts she lovingly prepared year after year. She adored spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she loved dancing, especially with her husband. Some of her favorite moments were spent watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren play sports. Her pride and joy were in their accomplishments, and she cheered them on every chance she got. She was strong when it mattered most, protective of those she loved, and always ready with a prayer. Everything she did was rooted in love, whether sharing a meal, offering advice, or simply being present. To know Mary Jane was to love her, and maybe to be just a little afraid of her, too. But her care, strength, sass, and laughter left an unforgettable imprint on all our hearts. Her legacy will continue to shine brightly through the lives of those she loved. We miss her very much.
