Tributes

Mary Micki Elizabeth Honaker went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2007. Her family is extremely proud of her overwhelming courage. She was born in Butte, Montana on October 16, 1944 to Jack and Rose Healy. She graduated from Manogue High School in 1962, before attending Sacred Heart Nursing School. Her career was spent working as a registered nurse. In 1966 she married James Grant. During their 17 year marriage they raised their four children in Idaho, Washington, Arizona and finally Texas. In 1975, they moved to Austin, Texas where she made many wonderful memories with the Brandywine Bunch. In 1988, she married Lowell Honaker. They moved to Fredericksburg, Texas in 1989 where she continued her nursing work as manager of home health care at Fredericksburg Memorial Hospital. After leaving nursing, she worked with her husband, a State Farm agent. Upon both of their retirements, they moved to San Antonio. She had a great sense of humor and a fun-loving attitude. Her four children will always cherish the holiday celebrations, well-planned birthday parties, and spur of the moment surprises she took such great care in creating. She had the same loving, unselfish attitude with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, John Vincent Healy. She is survived by her husband, of 19 years, Lowell Honaker; mother, Rose Healy; sister Deanna and Ed Nelson; son, Jim and Amy Grant; daughters, Kim and Lou Voto, Amy and Stephen Hibbetts, Anne and Calvin Joy; nephew, Paul and Julie Mathews and their children Kevin and Chelsea; niece, Karen and Vernon Scarborough and their children, Jack and Anna; step-children, John Honaker, and Susan and Jeff Olsen. She treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, Abby, Caroline, and Ella Grant; Haley Hibbetts; Houston Joy; Hannah and Olivia Honaker; and Gretchen and Heidi Olsen. SERVICES A visitation will be held form 3:00 - 6:00 PM on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North with a Prayer Vigil to begin at 7:00 PM at St. Matthews Catholic Church. A church service will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 10703 Wurzbach Road, San Antonio with interment to follow at Mission Retama Burial Park. The family would like to express their thanks for all those who cared for her during her illness. A deep appreciation is extended to Drs. Dice, Alvarez, and Hernandez. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
