Mary Juarez passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the age of 81 in San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Anita Juarez, and brother, Santiago Juarez. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 2, 2024, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM with a Prayer service at 4:00 PM, at the Dellcrest Funeral Home 2023 WW White Road, San Antonio, TX 78222. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Dellcrest Funeral Home, 2023 WW White Road, San Antonio, TX 78222. Interment will follow at Meadowlawn Memorial Park San Antonio, TX 78220 Mary, a kind and caring, woman was born on October 8, 1942, in San Antonio, TX to the late Rosario Juarez and Anita Juarez. She was kindhearted, friendly, a dedicated mother and grandmother, caring sister and friend. She worked as an LVN and supervisor at both the State Hospital and the State School for over 30 years and enjoyed caring for and helping patients and clients. Many patients contacted her to thank her for the wonderful care she provided. Mary was very nurturing and very family oriented. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters whom she adored and was very proud of, visiting with her siblings, drinking coffee, watching Law & Order, petting her puppy dog Macho, she loved music, and she was always cleaning and organizing the house. Regardless of her many health issues she never complained, nor did she ask, “why me.” She always said, “it could be worse.” Mary is survived by her daughter, Esmaralda Juarez-Jeffries (Eli); grandchildren, Elisha Jeffries-Perez (Oscar), Zoe Jeffries; siblings, Rachel Tello (Manuel), Dee Juarez, Rudy Juarez (Linda); numerous nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends. The family is deeply grateful to all medical staff that provided excellent care: Dr. Michael Lichtenstein (UT Medicine), Dr. Maria Arbelaez (UT Medicine), who made home visits. Dr. Antonio R. Anzueto (UT Medicine), University Hospital 7th floor MICU staff, nurses and respiratory therapist, a sincere thank you to RN Alan for your kind and comforting care, Corner Stone Caregiving, Mariah and Priscilla, Home Watch Caregivers Mike, Jennifer and Ana, Christus VNA Home Care, Nurses, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapists, and the Dispatch Health medical care teams. Thank you to Alma Rosales who provided professional and loving care to Mary for over 5 years and Rachel Andrade who prepared Mary special yummy meals Thank you to the Southside Church of God Pastors Brady and Vannessa Hacker and the Church family.
