Mary Louise Villareal entered eternal rest on November 14, 2023 at the age of 68. She was born on May 9, 1955 in San Antonio, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Miguel Guerrero, Sr. and Maria Louisa Guerrero, brothers, Mike Guerrero and Cristobal Guerrero and her dog Nellie. She is survived by her daughter Oralia Villareal and her son Robert C. Villareal, grandson Jeremiah Villareal, sisters Gloria Murillo, Gigi Gonzales and husband Roy, Ida Guerrero-Leos and husband Rudolph, Sylvia Scarborough, Lettie Moreno, brother Joe Guerrero, sister-in-laws Anna Guerrero and Dolores Guerrero, Goddaughter Julie Leos, Godsons Alexander Chagoy and Julian Montejano, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews, companion Rudy Ybarra, and her cat Merlin. Mary graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1974 and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Southwest Texas State University in 1977 and went on to receive a Masters degree in Public Administration in 1979. She valued education and enjoyed teaching and advising students. She began her career in education at Edgewood school district that went on to last for 29 years. First working as an advisor to at-risk youths, before moving on to work as a secondary education teacher up until her retirement in 2011. Her passion for teaching continued and upon her retirement, she began working part-time as a substitute teacher in the Northside school district. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her daughter, son and grandson were the light of her life and she loved her family and friends. She enjoyed the holidays and always looked forward to annual family Christmas celebrations, a time she was grateful to connect with her sisters and brother and their families. She enjoyed Fiesta and going to the parades. She enjoyed shopping and watching Tik Tok videos. She had a flair for crafts and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed traveling, visiting casinos and spending time at the beach. If anyone ever was in need to talk, Mary could be counted upon to lend an ear and give advice. She had an enormous heart and always put others before her. Her compassion and loving kindness were invincible and without limits. She touched the lives of so many people and will truly be missed and will never be forgotten. “To know her was to love her.”
