Merced Perez, Jr. was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 1, 1951, and went to be with the Lord on January 22, 2025, at the age of 73. Merced was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, he will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. Merced graduated from Luther Burbank High School in 1971, where he formed lifelong friendships and built a foundation of resilience and determination that defined his life He is preceded in death by his parents Merced Perez, Sr., Josefina Daniel Perez and brothers, Richard Perez and Albert Perez. Survivors include his beloved wife Consuelo “Connie” Perez, loving children, Monica M. Castillo (Thomas Jr.), Merced Perez, III (Amanda), and Michele A. Jimenez (Alfredo), sister, Ines Perez Sotelo, brothers, Antonio Perez, Gilbert Perez and Luis Perez, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and other loving family members and friends especially his “Breakfast Club”. Above all, Merced was a family man. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was boundless. He was a source of wisdom, encouragement, and love, always putting his family first. From having and attending holiday traditions, he supported his family, his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Everyone who met him knew he came across with a kind gentle handshake and love to talk about anything. From his trips to Walmart to his Green Bay Packers. Merced was also a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers, a team that brought him endless joy and excitement. Whether cheering from his favorite chair, at Fatso’s or Sideliners. His passion for the game was contagious. He also had a deep love for drag racing, spending countless weekends at the track, enjoying the thrill of the race with his wife and children. Family is asking for you to wear your favorite “Football Jersey” on either day of visitation or service to honor Merced. Visitation will begin on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service to begin at 6:30 p.m. at Brookehill Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, where services will conclude. Cremation will be held at a later date.
