Minnie Joyce Ball, 89, of Elmendorf, was called home to the Lord on February 22, 2025. During her last few weeks, she was surrounded by family and friends. Minnie was born to the late George and Louisa Davis on June 4, 1935, in Elmendorf, Texas. She was a retired mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. On August 31, 1952, she married Richard “Bucky” Ball, the love of her life, in Elmendorf. Minnie loved her family, her church, horses, and casinos. For the past few years, she was very passionate about visiting the casino once a month and even convinced her sons, her grandchildren, and friends to go with her. She and her late husband Bucky also loved horses. As members of the San Antonio U.S. Marshals Posse and Bexar County Palomino Patrol and Drill Team, they participated many times in the Stock Show and Rodeo. They also went on numerous trail rides and to competitions over the years and met many life-long friends along the way. Minnie also enjoyed attending her great-grandchildren’s sporting events, being involved with the church, attended a women’s ACTS retreat, and spent many years painting. Minnie is preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings. Minnie is survived by her three sons and their wives: Larry and Davene, Garry and Nancie, and Bernie and Laurie, as well as seven grandchildren: April Moxley and husband Chip; Chelsea Ball-Uranga and husband Jose; Joshua Ball and wife Lindsey; Nicole Ball and husband Keith; Cameron Ball; Katie Hostetter and husband Jon; Garreth Ball and fiance Hailey, in addition to seven great-grandchildren: McKynna Moxley, Kieryn Moxley, Drayton Moxley, Xadkiel Uranga, Xialani Uranga, Renley Ball (and sibling on the way), and Graham Hostetter. The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thanks to the staff that cared for Minnie at BAMC, Country Care Manor in La Vernia, and VITAS Healthcare Inpatient Hospice. Your care and comfort will never be forgotten. Visitation and rosary, led by Deacon Conrad Urteaga, will be held at Mission Park Funeral Chapel South on March 7, 2025 (family 4pm-5pm; friends 5pm-8pm; rosary at 7pm). A funeral mass, in memory of Minnie, will be held by Fr. Scott Janysek, Fr. Krzysztof Pawlowski, and Deacon Edward Jimenez at St. Jerome Catholic Church Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10:00am with reception to follow at St. Jerome. Interment and burial by Fr. Anthony Male will be held at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Elmendorf at 2:00pm.
