It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother, Minnie G. Liedecke. Minnie went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the age of 95. She was born on June 22, 1928, in Elmendorf, Texas. Attended school at Boldtville school in the Calaveras Community. Minnie is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Lawrence H. Liedecke; parents Tadeo Gonzales and Paubla S. Gonzales; son Henry Tony Liedecke and his wife Juanita Liedecke; siblings Salvador Gonzales, Adela Arriola and Pauline Vasquez and mother-in-law Stella Liedecke and father-in-law Frank Liedecke. She is survived by her children Mary Helen Liedecke Moreno and her husband George Moreno, Lawrence Liedecke, Michael Liedecke and his wife Kimberly Liedecke and Frank Liedecke. She was blessed with six grandchildren Henry Tony Liedecke Jr., Lorenzo Moreno, Starr Moreno, Mark Anthony Liedecke, Michael Lawrence Liedecke and Erica Liedecke; five great-grandchildren Julia Liedecke, Lila Liedecke, Landon Liedecke, Noah Liedecke and Nicolas Moreno; three great-great-grandchildren Marlee Rose, Ellia Nicole, Violet Rea; fur babies Nancy and Tiny, along with numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Minnie was the youngest of four siblings. Born in 1928, right before the Great Depression. At a very young age she built her strong work ethic in the fields picking cotton to help support her family. Minnie dedicated 28 years of service to the St. Anthony's Senior Nutrition Program. In those years she enjoyed the bonds she and her husband Lawrence built with her co-workers including many trips to Louisiana, Johnson City, and Los Maples to watch the colors change for the season. Minnie enjoyed many hobbies, such as crochet, artwork made of beads, she was also a skilled seamstress, so much so she hardly sat still. She felt she always needed to be busy, whether it was cooking, washing, cleaning in some way, as well as handmade crocheted household items. She loved traveling, most recently to Las Vegas to enjoy the slot machines. She had a passionate dedication to our Lord and Savior, to the very end. She continued to devote herself to daily masses on TV and would recite every word by heart. There wasn't a Christmas that passed that her family didn't enjoy homemade tamales, jalapeno stuffing, homemade tortillas, sweet meat, and a variety of favorites. She would always cater to her children and grandchildren's favorite choices. Minnie was a fashionista, from a very young age. She had such an eye for detail, from the accessories, right down to the shoes. Family gatherings were her absolute favorite. Minnie will be deeply missed by her family and all the lives she touched. She would often mention, "I've lead a full, happy life". Honorary Pallbearers will be Joseph Liedecke, George Liedecke, Ben Caldera, Adam Gonzales, Frank Martinez, Eddie Arriola. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. St. Anthony Catholic Church (Elmendorf). Interment to follow at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery (Elmendorf).
