RAMOS MSG Dario L. Ramos, US Air Force Ret, age 88 passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010. MSG Ramos is a resident of San Antonio, TX. He passed away at home among family and friends. MSG Ramos was born on June 2, 1921 in Comfort, TX. He is the son of the late Mr. Antonio and Santos Ramos of Comfort, TX. MSG Ramos was the second child of 15 brothers and sisters. He faithfully served his country with distinction having received the Bronze Star during WWII as a member of Able Company, 101st Airborne Division. He continued his military service after the war as a member of the US Air Force Reserve and Texas Air National Guard retiring after serving a total of 30 years in the Armed Forces. An avid believer in quality education MSG Ramos ensured that his eight children attended Catholic Parochial schools for the first 12 years of their formal education. MSG Ramos also volunteered thousands of hours in support of city, county and school activities earning the recognition of all the individuals that knew him. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mrs. Ofilia P. Ramos, daughter of Mr. Conrado Pena and Susanna Tellez of Eagle Pass, TX; his children John A. Ramos, Guadalupe Lupe Ramos Ridley, Celinda Sally Ramos Garcia, James D. Ramos, Mary Magdalene Ramos Cerna, Elizabeth Ramos Martinez, Joseph H. Ramos, and Susan Ramos Deleon. MSG Ramos was blessed with 28 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Additionally, he is survived by 5 brothers, Simon, Victor, Joe, Richard and Antonio Tony Ramos and 3 sisters Eva Rocha, Isabel Barron and Martina Rodriguez. Visitation begins at 6 o'clock followed by a Rosary at 7 o'clock at Oak Hills Funeral Home, San Antonio, TX on Wednesday June 2, 2010. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Thursday June 3, 2010 at St. Joseph South San Catholic Church 535 New Laredo Highway, San Antonio, TX followed by internment at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:30. He was a loving husband, father and brother. We know that he is now residing in a place prepared for him by our Lord, Jesus Christ. His physical presence will be missed but the values and life lessons he demonstrated to others throughout his life will continue to thrive through the works of his family and those whose lives he was so honored to touch.
