Olga M Gonzalez, 93 of San Antonio was called to the Lord after a brief illness on November 1, 2019. Like many individuals in this life she made mistakes and had regrets but managed to always maintain a sense of humor and nurtured a deep and forgiving love for her children and grandchildren. Olga’s life history was colorful and for most of her 93 years satisfying and fulfilling. When we speak privately of her life journey we joke that her life story is what you read about in Mexican Novelas, there was always drama, the cliffhanger, and ultimate resolution. Thank you for keeping life interesting and keeping us on our toes. We will miss you. Olga was born in Tampico Tamaulipas in 1926, and came to the United States in 1946. She was fiercely independent and had an entrepreneur spirit having owned and various times a restaurant, a thrift store, and a small cantina, Olga loved to bargain shop at thrift stores, garage sales, and flea markets, we believe it was the thrill of the of the hunt. She did not seek fiscal rewards, she sought out the camaraderie of working with vendors at flea market‘s, helping new immigrants some of which became extended family. She absolutely loved the company of friends and family, the more chaos the better. Olga is preceded in death by her husband Roberto Gonzales and stepson Richard Picasso. She is survived by her six children, 17 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Her children in order of birth: Luis Luitin and wife Rosa, their two children and granddaughter. Daughter San Juana Brown, Her three children and two grandchildren. Daughter Olga Garcia and her husband Victor, their two children and two grandchildren. Daughter Maria de Consuelo Ostrander and husband Phil, their three children and four grandchildren. Daughter Rosa DelFina Donel and husband Louis, her four children and 10 grandchildren. Daughter Marta Luitin, her three children and two grandchildren. Special thank you to her friends of the last few years who kept her busy, Particularly Aida. And a very special thank you to her granddaughter Mellisa who was always there to take her places, bring her things, and always try to keep ”grandma” out of trouble. As Olga realized that her heart was no longer cooperating she took to telling everyone that had visited to “be good love each other and forgive” SERVICES Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Palm Heights Mortuary with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Procession will depart the funeral home chapel at 10:15 AM on Thursday, November 7, 2019 for a Graveside Service at 11:00 AM at Mission Burial Park South, 1700 S.E. Military Drive.
