Tributes

Loving and caring, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, mentor and friend, Patsy Ann Katz was taken to Heaven on May 10, 2023. She is survived by daughters and son-in-laws Stacie and Randy Tiedeman, Kelly and Mark Mahula, sons and daughter-in-laws Jerry and Barbara Katz, Jaime and Anna Katz, Grand-daughters, Christina, Hilari, Laura, Ashley, Kelcie, Grand-sons, Jushuwa, Marshall, Tommy, KJ, Grady, great-grand-daughters Aurelia, Brinley, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and her sister Connie Fuller. Early in her journey she attended Brackenridge High School where she met her husband to be Jerry. Shortly after graduating from Brackenridge, Patsy and Jerry were married on June 12, 1954. While he worked in the Electrical Industry, she stayed at home raising their five children, sharing her knowledge assisting with school work, working as a taxi service, laundry/linen attendant, nurse, chef, doctor, taking the family to AstroWorld, and anything else that was required, including being a caring mother and wife. After the kids were old enough, she went back to school to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse, acquiring her LVN License. She then went to work for Dr. Carlos Menendez alongside his office staff, all who became great friends for close to 25 years, before she retired in June 2014. In her time away from work, she enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, weekends and week-long trips to the Texas Coast, camping on the Frio River at Camp Riverview from 1957 through 2004, attending and watching Nascar Races from 1997 through 2012, and watching the Dallas Cowboys. She always enjoyed the holidays and family gatherings, doing all she could to make the time together special. She was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church from 1954 until the time of her passing. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Grady and Stella, husband Jerry, and her son Guy. The Katz family appreciates the time and friendship shared by Dr. Menendez, Dr. Stawowy and office staff Dolores, Dorothy, Monica, Virginia, Carolyn, Tiffin, Linda, and technician Sylvia. Mom extremely enjoyed her time spent with everyone. We would also like to thank Arden Courts Memory Care Facility and all of their Angels that provided the superb care for our mother, Family Matriarch. In lieu of flowers the families request a donation in her name, Patsy Katz, to Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, Kendalia, TX or K9’s For Warriors. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
