Pauline Christine Villarreal, a life-long resident of San Antonio, went to be with her Lord on May 4, 2024 after a brief illness at the age of 88. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones at the time of her passing. Born December 24, 1935, she attended Fox Tech High School where she was a member of the Red Jackets dance team. Shortly after graduation, she married the love of her life, Rudy, in 1954. After years of trying, Pauline was blessed with a daughter in 1965 and then another surprise in 1972 when her second daughter was born. Pauline and Rudy were married for 62 years until his death in 2017. Pauline lived a long, full and happy life with her family and friends spoiled by her husband. She worked several jobs prior to becoming a mother, but once her little ones arrived she was a dedicated homemaker. After her girls were in high school, she worked at Pat Neff Middle School for several years until her grandson was born and she once again left the workforce to care for him and her granddaughter two years later. Jonah and Sydney were her pride and joy. Pauline loved to eat out, there was not a restaurant she hadn’t tried. She also loved to travel, especially to a casino or two, play bingo and just sit and talk. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, love of family and spiritual strength. She was always ready to help anyone who needed her and tried to take care of her family until the very end. She will be deeply missed and the memories she gave us will be forever treasured. She was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of St. Luke’s Catholic Church for many years. She is survived by her daughters Lisa Jones (husband Xavier) and Leslie Garcia (husband Gabe), sister Mary Lou Mauricio, brother Louis Sanchez (wife Rosie), brother-in-law Marcelino Villarreal (wife Dolores) grandchildren Jonah and Sydney Guajardo, Cynthia Martinez who she loved like a daughter, and numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren all of whom brought great joy to her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy, her infant brother Louis, her parents Caroline and Louis Sanchez, and her brother-in-law Salvador A. Mauricio. The family would like to thank New Hope Assisted Living, Compassion Hospice, and her loving care givers who have been with us throughout her final moments. Their time and attention have brought us great comfort.
