Peggy Beth Schulz, age 86, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 27, 2025. Born on November 7, 1938, she was known for her love for God and her family, as well as her generous hospitality. Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Michael David Sherbondy, her mother, Yvonne Louise Sherbondy, and her sister, Dylece Lenore Belzung. Peggy is survived by her husband of 68 years, Keith Arvel Schulz; her daughters Debbie Meinke (Rick) and Cindy Hayden (Tommy); her grandchildren Tommy Hayden (Amy), Brittany Dimitric (Darko), Robert Meinke (Emily), Katherine Meinke, Christopher Meinke (Addie), and Garrett Hayden; and her great-grandchildren Madyson, Jonathan, Nikolas, Ashlyn, Ella, Taylor, Hunter, Caleb, and Isaac. She is also survived by her brother, Mike Sherbondy (Gail), and many other loving family members and lifelong friends. Peggy graduated from Burbank High School in 1956 in San Antonio, Texas. She married Keith Schulz on November 17, 1956, and they built a loving family together. She worked for more than 40 years in the insurance industry. After retiring, she volunteered at Christian Assistance Ministries and at her church, The Fellowship of San Antonio. She loved flowers, so her backyard was always filled with various colorful plants. She also made many decorative wreaths and floral arrangements for all to enjoy. Peggy made many beautiful quilts for her family, an inheritance that is so appreciated. Peggy’s fun side included RV camping, theme park roller coasters, and travel adventures with Keith to such far away locations as Canada, the Mediterranean coast, and Australia to meet her longtime pen pal, Jan Buchanan, and her family. Peggy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who always looked forward to getting spoiled at Granny and Papa’s house. Part of that spoiling included special meals, gifts, and money discreetly slipped into the pockets of college-age grandchildren. She treasured her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and found joy in every gathering, holiday celebration, and special moments spent with her family. She was an avid pet-lover and she leaves behind her long-haired dachshund, Oliver. Peggy will be missed by her family and friends, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Peggy was buried at Retama Mission Park on July 7, 2025, in the presence of her family and those closest to her. She was honored with special music, remembrances, and a message by longtime pastor and friend, Ron Hill.
