Peter James, "P.J.", Easson, 50, finished his earthly work and passed away to be with his Lord on March 12, 2016, in San Antonio, Texas. P.J. was born at Shaw A.F.B. in Sumter, South Carolina, on December 25, 1965. At the time of his passing, PJ was surrounded by his immediate family, close friends, and beloved dog, Mocha Chica. We were blessed to have learned many lessons from P.J. in his 50 years of life. Memories of his kind, gentle nature and his larger-than-life personality will be the connection forever shared by those who loved him and were fortunate to have been a part of his life. P.J.'s love of life and love for the people in his life will never be matched. Whether it be hanging out with his San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo special sales committee members, his Live Oak dinner group, his wine group, or simply enjoying a Shiner Bock with his family or friends, P.J. loved life. He never met a person he couldn't make laugh and feel comfortable, and the gleam in PJ's eyes never failed to charm everyone he met. P.J. was a proud Judson Rocket, class of 1983. He was also an avid Eagle Scout as well as a member and eventual coach of the Live Oak Dolphins swim team. Always an active person, P.J. enjoyed playing flag football, hunting, fishing, golfing, cooking, and barbecuing—always in some combination with his many friends and loving family. P.J.'s laughter and love for life will be carried on through his wife of 12 years, Cheryl Howell Easson; mother, Marion Easson; sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Kenny Bramble; niece and nephew, Niki and Trey Bramble; mother- and father-in-law, Mary Ann and Charlie R. Howell Junior; sister- and brother-in-law, Christine and Lee Tafolla; nieces, Brittany Lynn Howell, Madison Tafolla, and Cora Tafolla; his many loving cousins; and dear friends, John Mills, Justin Mercer, Ken Seader, and the Rodkey family. P.J. will be reunited in Heaven with many who preceded him in death including his father, Peter Easson III, Nana, Grampy, and Uncle George. Please join P.J.'s family on Thursday, March 17, for visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapel, North 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive. A Rosary will follow at 7 p.m., with visitation continuing until 9 p.m. A funeral Mass celebrating P.J.'s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 18, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 16075 North Evans Road, Selma, Texas. Following the Mass, a procession will head to Mission Park Funeral Cemetery-South, 1700 Southeast Military Drive, for graveside services. Immediately following the graveside services, we will hold a celebration of PJ's life at Republic Golf Course, 4226 SE Military Drive.
